I’m dumb, can someone explain to me the BBM “chess tournament” style scheduling? Let’s say I kick a teams butt, does that mean the next week I’ll get a harder opponent? And so on, depending on performance?

Or, Wouldn’t the goal be after the first 7 weeks, the algorithm’s goal is every team to have faced roughly the same Strength of Schedule? I ask this because of my BBM games, I haven’t gotten any of the super bad teams yet and I recall one or 2 of those last year. So can I expect that in subsequent weeks?

You play a team each week with the same record as you. That way, there's only a handful of teams left at the end of the season undefeated. Also, each week (in theory) should be competitive because the undefeated teams are playing other undefeated teams, not teams that have lost a few games and are down the bottom of the standings.

This is reflected by what you're saying as you haven't lost yet this season, compared to last season where you lost your second game.
As you're winning again now, you will get another stronger opponent at the same level as you in the standings next week.

I feel like this allows some mediocre teams to squeak into the BBM Tournament as they excel in the pits of mediocrity. Whereas let’s say I do well the first 4-5 games but get my teeth kicked in against 1-2 elite teams.

I guess that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

You have to win a minimum 6 games to qualify for the knock out stages so the only benefit of losing a game is that you get a potentially easier shot at $ 20k the following game.

Which really isn't a benefit because you've already lost the game before and are now much less likely to qualify for the knock out stages.

Maybe the bank already received income from winning a B3 game? then it might make sense.

I think this was the case. It also happens with attendance money in league games, so if you're bidding during a home game you'll have more money than is shown on your economy screen.

Not sure if it's a bug or just a thing that happens because the games have already been processed before you see them. Can spoil a result of a BBM or cup game though
