So how does everyone think the first(real) game is going to go? I haven't watched much Clips, but they seem to be adjusting pretty well, and that was a nice win over the Heat.

Thoughts on Lakers so far:
Bynum looked great his first couple of games back, but has gotten too passive since then.
MWP had a hot start to the season but hasn't played well recently.
McRoberts has played well when healthy, same with Murphy, Blake, and Kapono.
Barnes is playing amazing.
Pau has been consistently good, needs to step up when Kobe is having an off night though.
Kobe has been Kobe.
Home wins are great, but let's prove it on the road too.

I thought it proved a lot for the Clippers. They just came off of a nice win against the Heat and then they beat the Lakers and are starting to win over even more people. The clips still dont have enough depth in their line up to be a championship contender i dont think but they are a very good playoff contender. As for the Lakers, whether you love or hate kobe, you have to admit that he is playing his A+ game right now and is clearly carrying the team. I believe the big problem that lakers have though, is that kobe doesnt get any help from his PG's and SF's. His bigs are doing decent but kobe cant carry them the whole year so some one needs to help kobe out in the backcourt ASAP. I betcha they are wishing they had CP3 right now.

i think that the clips definitely hae an edge right now cause of the game last night where they werent losing for the entire game but kobe is playing great right now. because of the condensed season though, i think kobe will eventually get fatigue and lose his dominance that he has right now and then the lakers will go down

As a Lakers fan I can handle Barnes starting. He is producing. The bigs aren't getting enough touches but when kobe has it going like this what are you going to do. They aren't going to out produce him so just let him shoot. What i can't take is Fish playing more than 10 minutes a night. He is a spot up shooter, period. He cant stay in front of anyone defensively, he doesn't make good decisions with the ball, and doesnt get people (mostly the bigs, like it matters with Kobe) the ball in positions they can effectively score from. His running the point essentially boils down to him passing the ball to Kobe as quickly as he can, or dribbling himself into a bad situation and looking for a bailout (either drawing a stupid foul off the defense or looking for a teammate to come to the rescue). Until they bring in a real pg they will struggle against the elite teams. That was the difference last night. Fisher couldn't do a thing positive and it was left to a 20 year old second round pick to stay with Paul. I like Steve Blake but even when healthy he plays best off the bench and isn't a starter. He isn't the answer either. But they don't need a chris paul type to win the west, hell a Raymond Felton type would be fine. But so far there is this destructive loyalty to let fish search for his super power ring and magically become Isiah Thomas. And I am just talking about the rookie on the Kings bench....

I agree with this. It's the reason why they would have zero shot against the Thunder. Westrbrook always torches fisher and Blake can't guard him either.

Well to me, Clippers have proven they are the best team. Kobe has scored great, but he needs the triangle to reign him in and help him defer to his teammates. Remember the year Kobe scored 81? Same type of deal....Kobe does too much and doesn't use his teammates. The difference is that now Kobe has a great team around him, that year he didn't. Nobody has the front court that the Lakers do. Definitely nobody has the front court coupled with a legit superstar like Kobe either. How are the Lakers not better????

They have literally no one else who can play on the perimeter, I actually wouldn't mind an Arenas pick up, though if J.R. Smith could be had when he comes back that'd be much better.
