It's not so much about whether or not we want such a drastic change to the game to occur. It's about what's realistically possible to do. That's why I put forward optimizing the calendar down to 13 weeks as a possibility, because I don't know if my more drastic plan of 30 games over 11 weeks (no playoffs) with fatigue replacing game shape would be doable, much less what you're suggesting.

That's not to say that a speed server isn't possible at all. I'm starting to draw up a potential schedule in my head involving a 4 day cycle. League on days 1 and 3, NT on day 2, Cup/Scrimmage on day 4. Hmmm... would still have to find a way to fit the B3 in though. Private leagues too if you want to keep those. Result if you can pull it all off though is an 8 week season with no changes needed to game shape or training algorithms. The drawback being that not having a weekly cycle may prove disorientating for many managers, as opposed to having certain events happen on certain days.

And whether or not managers would even prefer that over a slightly slower proposal (though still faster than the current game) is unclear.

I am surprised that a handful of managers would want to give the impression that the whole BB community are in favour of raising the server. But I rather have the feeling that this does not correspond to reality with the opinion of the whole BB world. This would be a very drastic change for the game either way and I think it is very unrealistic, because not only would the danger be very big that the big core of managers would leave the game, but also the game would be technically at its limits (programming and every problem would lead to many consequences).

I have experienced a similar situation with another browser game. There, there is only one game per week for the vast majority and at the beginning of the season the cup games, which later become friendlies. So, two games per week. The developers of this game have experimented and set up a second server and halved the length of a season. Today, this experiment is considered a complete failure. Only 0.33% of the managers (from the main server) also play in the fast server, while the vast majority prefer to continue playing in the classic server.

A look at Hattrick shows, however, how this problem can be tackled: Hattrick has significantly increased the number of compulsory matches by introducing several cup matches with different strengths, so that the number of compulsory matches during the week remains constant at 2, at least at the beginning of the season. So I rather support the idea of introducing more must-win games in Buzzerbeater for Thursday. The only question is in which format and which teams could participate.

It would be conceivable to introduce an International League in such a way that all teams of the same league level that have not become champions or cup winners and have finished 2nd to 4th in the league can participate. Then there would be an International League of the 1st Division, then an International League of the 2nd Division and possibly the third Division. The mode could be similar to that of the BBB.

I think there are few easy ways to speed up the game, or at least making new users to stay. I can imagine that when new users acknowledge they will have to wait real life years to build a competitive team, many of them never login again.

1) new users start with bigger arena and few better players (30-40k salary wise or ~100TSP wise or something like that)

2) improve the draftees. Their highest skills could be for example 10 or 9. They will still be limited with their potential, they will just get there sooner. Alternatively, draftees could arrive at 20 or 21 years proportionally better then at the age of 18 or 19. In both cases around 2 seasons of training are saved, that is the most boring and painful 6 real life months because they are terrible players at that age and skillset. U21 could then shift to U23 or something so there will still be junior NT teams. As a bonus, good draftees with lower potentials might become more relevant in the game because it wouldn't take long to train them until they become useful players. I think overall this would shorten the time needed to build or rebuild your team, which I imagine could convince some users to stay in the game. The question (or the tradeoff) to me is however if this makes the training process too easy.

But that is not true. This game is for people that enjoy looking how his team improves very slowly, his players improve very slowly ... this is the most enjoyable part of the game. When a project is ended, and you have to part with your old players, that is the hard part. While your team and your players are slowly improving, no matter how slow, it is easy to enjoy it.

You are right, it is for people enjoying this very slow progress, and that is the reason we are having this conversations, because it seems less and less people are enjoying it. I actually also like this slow progress (I started playing 3 and a half seasons ago and I am having fun while being patient and waiting for team to mature).

Having better draftees, it will still be plenty of time watching and enjoying your player's growth (just not from 55 TSP to 130, 140 but from 70 - 80 TSP on or something like that ). You might enjoy your time with players even more as they would be better and helping your team earlier.
