yer NY are... well...just full of bad decisions in the past 10 years.

HOWEVER - i think they doing something sneaky - They are resting Stoudemire such that he either:
a) Gets so frustrated that he asks to be traded
or
b) they are saving him such that after the trade deadline, they will start playing him, his production will go up and he will basically have the mentality that he is playing for a future contract next season somewhere else.

I think his contract expires this year? not sure. pretty sure it does. so they can let him go or try and get something for him before trade deadline, whihc i think won't be much because his contract is so big.

He'd be basically untradeable I would have thought

According to the link below, he has this and next season on his contract:

I'm Pretty sure Stoudemire is due $22m in 14/15.

He's can't be traded. Nobody wants an injury prone big man with that kind of salary. His knees can't even be insured.

Chicago would be best to tank all season, trade away Deng and Boozer (nobody would take his contract though) and hope for a great draft pick. Picks 1-4 are considered franchise players, and 5-8 could have been number 1s in any of the last few drafts.

Watching Jabari Parker play, wow he's a monster! Surely the number 1 pick. Totally outplayed Wiggins recently, and way more polished.

spew bags 4 the knicks then.... maybe they will bundle melo and Amare into a trade package - get rid of two bits of rubbish at once.

You want Melo? you take Amare as well. not a bad idea. Maybe LA would take that on.

BWA HA HA HA.

Melo + Kobe - that would be great to see.

I'm surprised at how bad some of the teams this season are at tanking.

Suns.. above 50%. They potentially have 4 first round picks next season.
Sixers... 6-9 record. They should be dead last with the roster they have. Michael Carter-Williams did not get the memo.
Portland... 11-2 record. No one saw that coming after last seasons effort. Aldridge already one of the premier PF's in the game with a sophomore PG in Lillard. A top 4 pick in next seasons draft would instantly turn them into the new OKC.

The only teams actively tanking are the Jazz and dare I say it, the Brooklyn Nyets.

Jabari Parker is crazy good, but I have a feeling Randle will get picked first. Big men always get picked first. History will repeat itself. Olajuwon and Sam Bowie over MJ. Oden over Durant. Milicic over Wade and Carmelo. Bogut over Chris Paul.

Lets see if next seasons draft can beat Lebrons and MJ's draft class. Heck if its as good as Kobe's draft class that would be awesome too.

Sixers... 6-9 record.

remember though they started 5-0 .... 1-9 since is about what everyone expected

and it's funny how all the talk last season and the off-season was about tanking for Wiggins, now Wiggins isn't even talked about as being #1

Most of the good records for tanking teams are against eastern conference. So Jazz have it pretty good.

Kobe with a 48.5 mil 2 year extension. Highest paid in 2014-15 and possibly 2015-16.

1. Kobe
2. Amare
3. Joe Johnson

I wonder who is paying Gilbert Arenas final two years, cos that'll be right up there too.

http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2012-11-25/sports/35512386_1_president-ernie-grunfeld-wizards-gilbert-arenas

Doesn't say who owns the contract, but looks like wizards dealt it to orlando.

he got waived by orlando, which means his contract didnt come under the books for tax purposes, and then utilise the 'stretch provision', whihc means... pay the remainder out of the next few years ( not sure how that works)
so by taht ruling, Orlando own it until paid out which is.. who knows? Can a player get money from one contract whilst still earning from another? Cause gilbert then played for memphis... so who knows.

but chances are, is that the owner of the wizards said to the owner of the magic,.... "take gilbert off ur hands, and ill buy any dodgy assets that you own (houses, companies etc) equivilant to the same amount"
and the magic owner woulda said "take rashard lewis off my hands as well, and u have a deal"

.........and thats how capitalism works.

Very well thought out. Arenas did play in China last season though.

I wonder why Steph Curry is not a max contract player? Him and Iggy are only on about 10-11 mil per season.
