Even though I clearly benefited from HCA, I still have no problem asking...

....Why isn't B3 all on neutral court? I've never heard one good reason why HCA is even a factor!

Has anyone ever heard a good reason? Did I miss it?


it should give small teams chanches to kick the strong teams out so that tteams didn't dominate, maybe not the best reasons but at least it works ;)

Why should we give smaller teams chance to upset big ones in B3 where we are looking for the best team? Anyway my proposal of new B3 system would almost eliminate the HCA and random factor. As i wrote earlier i suggest 11 week system with 2 single elimination rounds to make 64 best teams compete as fair as possible in group stage with neutral areanas. Top 32 ranked teams i would devide into 16 groups and draw the rest randomly. After 3 group games top 2 teams would advance to next group stage withe 8 pools of 4 and again i would seed 16 previous group winners. After these 3 games just winner would advance to play quartetfinals withe best teams HCA. Final four would be again at neutral place. I think it much more reasonable and less random system.

1 BBB, 20 Leagues, 10 Tournaments, 3 Europe Titles (SVK), 2 World Bronzes (SVK), 2 Europe Bronzes (SVK,FRA), 42 Seasons NT coaching

i don't liek the hca either, but this was the explanation for it, stated from the bb some post before.

It is more games but more games means more interes from more people (not just managers of b3 teams).. In this system you might advance even after you loose a game..

I've never heard one. I think the HCA (which I benefited from greatly, up to the last round) makes the whole thing far less meaningful.

So it seems teams that have been at the benefit and detriment of HCA in the B3 (ive been on both sides of this also) all seem to agree that neutral court is better. So is HCA there to randomize who wins to make it more interesting for the B3 audience?

Haven't the BB's stated that they want at least half of the teams in the BBB tournament to have their game at a time that is convenient to watch?

If that's a goal, then home court advantage is the simplest way to ensure you meet it, as the games will be at a convenient time (assuming league games are typically at a convenient time for most teams), as the home team is playing the game at their regular league time.

An other option is lets say from the 32 or 16 teams the games be double, and the one who had the biggest win to advance the round

For the semi-finals and finals, the games are drawn and played at the normal game time of the team being drawn despite being played on the neutral court. Thus, there is no reason that this cannot be done for the entire tournament.

The only benefit I can see with the hca addition to b3 is to throw in a big random factor. So a visiting team will have to try riskier options to try and win (not base offense with an incorrect lineup submitted, for example), whereas in a neutral court, the more conservative tactics would be fine.
