And we are down to the Elite 8!!!

Canada Tournament Coverage Season 19

(20)Clodhoppers (24964) vs (24)sherbrookers (33472)

3 Div2 teams remain in the Elite 8 and 2 of which will square off on Thursday night.

The Clodhoppers have never advanced past the Sweet 16, having only achieved that feat once in S17.
Led by double guards Dietlinde (14721284) and Maconi (14745074), the team sits in 2nd place in II.4 Big 8 conference. Its cup run has been filled with bot draws, with it's only challenge coming from an early favorite to promote, the Cerebral Assassins (33522), which the Clodhoppers surprised the competition with a CT vs TIE finish.
With both The Hounds (25054) and Headless Thompson Gunners (33296) ahead of it in the standings, it looks as though The Clodhoppers are making roster arrangements as a majority of the team has been put on the transfer list. However with that being said, it looks as though The Clodhoppers has saved its best line up for the cup game and with the players on the transfer list due after the game, it is anybody's guess what the manager, krazysilly, has up his sleeves...

Still sitting 5th in the difficult Big 8 of II.1, the sherbrookers has elected to play the starters for the 2 league games this week. But seeing how the starter minutes were limited in the Tuesday games, will the manager, Shergut, stretch the players' minutes just a bit to claim a chunk of the cash prize for winning? OR is the risk too great and will opt to try and fight for a playoff spot and a possible 1st round playoff match up against the aforementioned Cerebral Assassins who are still in contention to win the II.1?

Clodhoppers has the better team and looks poised to take the game after punting the Saturday league game. But Clodhopper has used a CT just a week ago to advance in the cup. With a blowout win and reduced starter minutes for the Tuesday league game, will the sherbrookers put in its A line against the Clodhoppers? Will sherbrookers take a page out of the Clodhoppers play book and play with CT?
Or will the Clodhoppers overrun the sherbrookers B line since Shergut has decided that its more beneficial to the team if the sherbrookers concentrated on a playoff spot?

Just a slight correction on the Clodhoppers and the transfers
Crazysilly did indeed sell his best player this week
getting rid of his center prior to the Cup affair

Canada Tournament Coverage
(23)Fundamentally Sound(33492) vs (10)the ragin stajans(33578)

In the midst of a four team battle for first in the Big 8 of II.4, Coach Coach and his team Fundamentally Sound have a lot on their plate. Sitting 11-6, with some big games remaining this season, they have now reached the quarterfinals for the first time in the teams 10 season history. Having faced two div II teams and a few tough div III teams on their road to the quarterfinals has this team poised with experience and an abundance of big game moments already. Led by the Canadian trio of Hall(18665337), Worley(19313993) and MacSymon(11817284), who have been through some difficult games. Lets hope MacSymon doesn't get injured like he usually does in big time situations.

Stajan and his squad are sitting fairly comfortably in 5th of the Big 8 of Canadas top league. Sitting 9-8 this season, with some nice results. This team has ventured into the quarterfinals for the first time in their 8 season history and are looking for a semifinal spot Thursday night. Having beaten a Naismith team in Herman Griffins, a top div II team in brotherhood123 and another div II team in Haylors, these ragin stajans have had their fair share of tough matchups and should be prepared for what Coach Coach has to throw at them. These stajans are being led by a very balanced squad, but standout Rabaud(14781442) is always there for the team both defensively and offensively.

Both teams like to switch it up, but seem to lean towards to LI when the goings get tough. Knowing Coach Coach and his BB IQ he will notice his disadvantage at LI and try something out. Either way I think the ragin stajans should win this one fairly comfortably and lock up their first ever SF appearance.

Canada Tournament Coverage
(8)Pain Train PRO(25108) @ (2)Beanz Odyssey(24876)

Well even though Pain Train PRO is becoming a bot, they still sit in 2nd place of the Great 8 with an 11-6 record. The teams making their 2nd and final QF appearance. Beating the likes of Genso Suikoden II and The Hounds, even with this standard lineup, Pain Train PRO are still trying to win a cup without the guidance of a true manager. Dwain Hadley(14640977) and Germain Demers(13233749) lead the short manned lineup, but are starting to lose their gameshape.

GM-beanerz is making his 3rd appearance in the quarterfinals where he is 2-0 and looking to continue unbeaten in the quarterfinals. With the top spot in the Great 8 all locked up, beanerz knows that he can take chances with the cup. Victories over Philosopher Kings and Soaring Eagles have this team heading into the quarters with a couple nice victories under their belt. Led by inside tandem of Momar Maja(9256889) and Ding Yiu Wing(13973622) this team certaintly has the firepower.

Well Pain Train PRO is stuck on a LI, M2M, Normal with 6 players, so beanerz knows whats coming. Knowing beanerz he will try a different tactic out, like a patient or push the ball. No matter what though, Beanz Odyssey should prevail and continue on to their 3rd Semifinal in team history.

Canada Tournament Coverage
(4)Blenkinsop(24942) @ (5)Hamilton Hosers(25094)

This team has not lost once. ALL season. Thats right Blenkinsop has gone absolutely perfect this season and look like a good favourite to win the coveted double. Looking at their schedule is easy on the eyes, with absolutely no red. 17-0, locked into 1st place and HCA throughout the playoffs in Canadas most elite league. This team is legitimate. This is there 3rd time reaching the quarterfinals where they are 2-0. With no real challenges all the way through to this round, iwantham has yet to have to make any tough decisions. Team captain, mascot and team name Ryerson Blenkinsop(6675585) leads this squad on their quest to becoming Canadas elite.

Hamilton Hosers are a first time Naismith team and they sit in 2nd place of the Big 8 at 11-6. That is a successful first season if I have ever seen one. This is the 2nd time that this team has qualified for the quarterfinals of Canadas Tournament, but they were beaten last time and look to make their first Semifinal appearance in team history. Jens-Harald Neugschwender(10715817) leads this teams inside attack and has a very long annoying name.

Blenkinsop can go inside, outside, upwards, downwards and backwards. What tactic they use is completely in the air, although a LI is probable, while Hamilton Hosers seems to be LI happy lately. The victor of this one? I think Blenkinsop should and will prevail.
