Probably because they'd rather play it safe and not risk getting a penalty for guessing wrong.

Yeah.... In a scrimmage. That makes sense.

It really doesn't, but it's kind of hard to miss it when you set your lineup.

Then it is a garbage feature.

But what you say makes sense. There are teams that - after years of playing - still have not figured out how to set their effort level and what a teams motivation is worth...

I don't like the feature, so I don't use it.
Maybe that will change in the future, but I just ignore it when I set my scrimmage lineup.

I agree that I would play safe if I know I am going to win the game and keep the minutes under control.

However, I would use GDP feature for cup games in case that the opponent is much much stronger than my team.

I'm a bit worried if guessing right will change "expected results" (=without guessing) remarkably.
In my last scrimmage without guessing, I should have lost a lot. (65672459)

- I lost every single team rating
- Opponent had much better ratings for players
- no HCA
- End of the game I played with two lucky fans, probably without fouls, I would have even won....now I lost after OT
- Okay, patient seems to be good tactic for my SF, I guessed both right; inside, fast

Now I would like to see "penalty" of guessing wrong....how big change for "expected result". Also we must find out if guessing pace and offense have same kind of impact.

Well, it seems like all the fast paced offenses are the most dangerous. R&G,LI, and even PTB. So I will probably just guess fast pace every game and leave the Inside/outside one blank.

Exactly, It is quite easy for most of teams to switch from LI to Low Post. Skill distribution is quite close. I think it is much more challenging to switch from LI to some other than inside oriented offenses, like patient, princeton, motion. Thats why I think better option could be selecting offense, not pace.
