While you'd make a very good coach, I'm not in favour of an English-league coach taking over as U21 boss. As the ex-boss, I can safely say that the power to call up any decent prospect does give you an advantage in club basketball. Now, the game has changed, and having your own country players in your club squad gives even greater financial reward. I'm not saying for one moment that any English coach would abuse this position but I don't think it's 'fair' that they have the opportunity.

I disagree here.

I'm on my 4th term as USA NT coach, and I've received very little flack in this regard.

I've always maintained that I could post my whole roster and it doesn't make much difference, and I'm going to play the same way regardless of what I know about someone's players.

like elmacca said, you arent very experienced with this game, 3 seasons isnt alot off experience at all. secondly I would favour, as I have stated before a player from the states or canada or so.

I have one question, well 2. Why did you pick England? Did you apply for any other countries?

If we had problems with language, we wouldn't have proposed to turn this into a more active comunity using the forum.

I am not sure what you mean by this. I am not trying to be funny, just trying to understand your experience off the game, and england as a nation within BB. Could you please elaborate a little bit more what you meant with this comment?

ps... as far as i am aware chinees and than hindoe are the most spoken languages in the world :P but this is debatable off course :)

We only apllied for England. We spent a month preparing this aplly. It is a serious apply, we aren't like those who only aplly for fun, we are in this to be as close to victory as possible.

We have chosen England because all of us speak and understand well the language and because we saw one thing that caught our atention. The only one to participate in the conferences was the Senior NT coach. We think that, for a country to be one of the bests, it has to have one of the most active comunities. So we centered part of our apply on the comunity. Our goal is to bring more people to the forums, because there will be more interaction. I think that now you understand what I was sayng in that sentence.

PS: As for experience, I spent the last 2 years following the NT competitions, and I was a very active user in the portuguese comunity so I can say that I know a lot about NT's

More questions?

ok... it was a trick question and you passed. A few seasons ago, it was either in season 7 or 8, me and a few others tried to get the english basketball community to be more active. we had in total 4 participants on the external forums, elmacca, the NT coach or U21 coach cant remember, another guy and myself.

Basketball is as big a sport in england as cricket is in Portugal or something like that. I am sure you can get the point I am trying to make. I have seen great coaches from the NBBA come and take over our teams (mostly they were asked), doing a great job (imo) with the very little support from the 4 or 5 really active users in England they had. This season we missed out on qualifying by 1 loss when I remember correctly. Something that was unthinkable, was almost achieved, the english qualifying for the next round. Look at the approval rate 49%.... No clue why it is so low.

If you think you can make from the English BB players a real active community, I think you are trying to do the wrong thing. I will run for the U21 team position as well. Whoever wins, needs god (i am not religious) on their side, because although there are some great active players among the english teams. The lack off english talent and even worse english talent being trained, is horrible and I cant see any way this will ever change...

In case you win this election, I sincerely hope you will qualify beyond the first round. I started in season 3 and you and your friends would be the first to do so and even than, having lived for several years in the UK, dont be suprised if you will still only receive a very low approval rate...

I'll be honest. I only started following England when we decided to aplly for this country. So I don´t know what measures you took to try to make this comunity more active. But what we will do everything we can to acomplish this. If you are going to apply, I would prefer you to post your speech, and then we would say what measures we are going to take.

PS: Good luck for your apply. May the best one wins

England is a smaller player with top prospects having greater value to EBBL or II.x teams than the US equivalent has to NBBA or US II.x rosters. Thus, the ability to scout close-up the prospects gives up and coming teams an advantage on the transfer market, especially as you usually hear about prospective transfers before anyone else... besides, England's just different and you're a special case anyway Juice, very special...

that's it. Like Vasco92 said, our first goal will be more interaction.

But in the real game... we know the potencial in England and for us it's a good challenge and a good work. In last month we search English players and now, we have a good plan for this NT and a good team to do it. But, for now, all of you prefer talk about our nationality. We are here to do the best for England so you have to understand and encourage us.
