Yes, I wouldn't expect that computer generated players would be better just because of the age. And if the best old player is similarly good with best young player, the young one is most probably being trained while the old one is in maintenance mode. Even if not in maintenance, and it is being trained, he will evolve much slower than the younger conterpart.
