He's going to be a PG: Get his JS, JR, OD and Driving all up to respectable, OD perhaps even to proficient. his could take most of the season. Next season, train the following rotation:

1 week 1on1
1 week Pressure
1 week Outside Shooting/Jump Shot
1 week Handling
1 week Pressure
1 week Passing

rinse and repeat (slightly altered if one skill gets ahead of the others, then don't train that one, but the weakest remaining skill)

I agree with you. However, I think he'll need quite some JS and Driving training, which will raise his IS too, so he could end up with IS around inept, ultimately.

As you can't train fully this week anyway, team training is quite beneficial. One FT training won't hurt, I think - and you have to care for your other trainees, too ;)

try to buy two more similar trainees. you can train them parallelly, and sell those you don't need once they hit their cap.

Basically, buy guards, at best some with similar skillsets as your trainee (some more Handling and Passing won't hurt, and you could train a PG parallel to your SG), and perhaps slightly lower, or in the case of a PG, similar, potential as your new trainee. Have a look at the market and try to get some bargains, I don't know the prices for guard trainees, as I'm currently training bigs.

To be honest, in my opinion it would make more sense to get trainees at the beginning of the season, and then maybe spend your revenue throughout the season on your arena
