Yeah, but that guy's allstar potential is not the same as allstar from players arriving after season 5. Hence the allstar*

Actually, if you don't include the allstar* guy, you'll find that the vast majority of center/big men have salaries in the 50K range. SOme have salaries in the mid 60K, and I found 1-2 at 70K, and one dude who was like 115K.

What is more relevant than actual salary however is the total number of skill points. If you go through and add those up, you'll find that most big men have 70-79 skill points. THis was even true of the 115K guy: he had huge primary skills but really awful secondary skills.

That being said, seeing as the OP's guy had 61 skill points, it seems safe to assume he hasn't completely capped.

Like the other guy said, look for the asterik beside allstar*

All players before year 6 show allstar* potential so their caps don't appy to modern day rules.

Because of his age he will have already slowed down a fair amount in training, but I believe you have 1 or 2 pops left on the "main" skills and you can get pops using 1v1 as it does not add to your salary.

I have a 21yo trainee with a 43k+ salary AND he is also all-star potential. He has higher main skills than your guy but lower rebounding. He had not yet hit his soft cap when i was training main skills. I have since gotten 2 pops on JS, 1 on handling, 1 on driving. I have trained him in JS and 1v1. I may train him for 1 more ID pop and I'll let you know if it takes forever because he has hit his soft cap or not, but I believe your guy has a couple of main pops left. Of course there is no way of knowing without trying like another poster said.

Alright, thanks everyone for the advice. I guess I'll try training him for the rest of the season to get some secondaries in.

1 on 1 training may not add to salary but it still contributes to the cap.

Does 1 pop in a secondary contribute to the cap as much as 1 pop in a primary does?

ive been reading this thread and all the replies about skill points and numbers between 70-79 for example. is there a specific number cap to each player's potential that is linked to total number of skill points?

Different skills probably have different weightings towards the cap but if someone cracks the cap formula they are a genius.
