Week 1 Power Rankings

The first week is done and over with an we already have a few surprises. The miami ravens nearly knocked off the Bollingbrook Tigers and the Coal Miners blasted ahead of the Cincinnati Lakers. Also in some sad news the 2 former top 8 teams, the Patty Polinators and Burris Owls are no longer in the league.

They said it: Every week I'm going to try to post up a funny or ridiculuous quote made up by a manager or coach and put by a players name. It can be trash talk or just said to create some drama. Just send the quote the players name and the situation in a message to me. Heres the first one:

"It's kind of hard for me to make a 3 when I'm sitting on the bench." ---Jesus Miguel Lamas Cabrera after a loss to the Coal Miners where Cabera only played 11 minutes and the team shot 2-20 from 3.

(Lw)

(1) 1. Buffalo Wings

The Wings started the season out strongly, with a nice 30 point win over beastode to put them in first after 1 game. On Tuesday they have a huge game against their rivals, the Cincinnati Lakers. If they can win a fourth straight game over them, then they could already be firmly in the driving seat for the division title. If Nicholas Faulkner can continue to produce like he did on Saturday, this team could be really tough to beat.

2. (4) Tenn. Stallions

The Stallions might have the best chance to finish with the 22-0 record in V. 41. Their division took a huge blow with the loss of the Burris Owls and Patty Polinators. Meanwhile, this team keeps finding ways to win. They had a nice 18 point win of the het in which 5 players scored in double figures.

3.(3) Bollingbrook Tigers

While it was just one game, the Tigers struggled mightly against the miami ravens. They walked away with a 10 point win, but that was largely due to a 2nd quarter when they outscored the ravens by 16. In the end I think they'll be fine. The ravens have been known to play good first games of the season at home, and with Yu Yufa they'll be fine. Luckily they escaped this one with a win.

4.(4) Coal Miners

After a rollar coaster ride of a season last year, the Miners gave their fans a huge positive in the first game of the season. They managed to beat the Cincinnat Lakers for the first time in there last 4 meetings. Cristobal Sacristan Roy and Narcis Dalleres shined in this game scoring 27 and 26 respectfully. This could be the bottom of the rollar coaster of even bigger things to come this year.

5.(2) Cincinnati Lakers

While I don't think the Lakers are just the fifth best team in this league, I had to drop them 3 spots after losing to the Coal Miners. They got themselves in foul trouble early, and after barely surviving regulation, couldn't handle an overtime period. They have a tough game on Tuesday against the Buffalo Wings. A huge win over their rivals would put them back on track.

6.(6) miami ravens

The ravens proved once again that they deserve to be considered one of the best in V.41. Once again they almost knocked off the Bollingbrook Tigers. Lev Maltsev picked up where he finished off last year, scoring 27 points. I expect them to bounce back and go on a little bit of a tear.

7.(NR) The Dolphins

Since the Polinators and Owls went under it's kind of hard to figure out who to put in these last two spots. I'll include the Dolphins here who got a nice 12 point win of the new york rockers following a performance in which 3 players scored in double figures.

8. (NR) WWIAFTM

They have the longest name in the conference and after a 24 point beatdown of macintosh they take over the 8th spot in the power rankings.

Game of the Week: Buffalo Wings at Cincinnati Lakers

The Wings took all 3 games from the Lakers last year. Both teams are each others rivals which should just intensify games a little. This could go a long way to determining playoff seeding as a loss for the Lakers will already drop them 2 games back. This game could be

Good post, but We have some more flies drop. Riho and Lev are no longer V.41ers.

So the bottom probably gonna go like this:

WWIAFTM is 6 in my book now. Their a inside young team and fully strapped with a foreign Zbo and Marc Gasol.

Dolphins are only constant manager other than me in the Big 8.

Then the unarmed Miami Ravens. The only player that look to help the franchise is 32.

The only shooter now are Jesus Miguel Lamas Cabrera, Jochen Oswald, Narcís Dalleres, Evaristo Cyran, and Stephen Yates. These are the players that are great outside presences. Darren Schilling could be in a year if his coach ever clocked in. The inside belongs to Cristóbal Sacristan Roy, Nicholas Faulkner, Stephen Brock, and Cedric Kolmschot. Al Harrington's Boško Zekovic is a good inside presence too.

Thanks for keeping me honest I cant believe that the ravens finally went under. Jeez this league is slowly losing human teams, Bollingbrook hasn't been in since the 18th which explains there struggle and the Wings havent been on in a week. This league still has the talent, but its struggling a bit. I agree with you on the WWIAFTM being the sixth best team at this point. If they stick around they could easily slip into the playoffs, as for your side of the league I saw the Dolphins being the only active team and they could now slide into the conference finals.

I wish people wouldn't give up on there team after a few seasons. I've been here for 5 straight years, and its tough but eventually you get a whole lot of income and get some serious firepower.

By this time next year we all will have advance but I like the competition. I would have stayed for that aspect alone. It tells you that your strong enough to compete at the next lvl or even league III. Check out the Slammers their gonna finish their league in the top five. The Show Stoppahs had no competition so they got relegated.
We struggle at the bottom so we can become the greatest at the top.

rolly- I think there starting to fall into place

and Murl- I agree with you, this competition in the league means you have to get really good if you want to compete that makes you nearly d IV ready right away.

After 2 weeks and 3 games were down to two undefeated teams in the Tenn Stallions and the Coal Miners. We have a whole bunch of teams sitting at 2-1 including 4 in the Great 8, which is already more competitve than last year. There are only 4 teams sitting at 0-3. This division is already turning out to be a fight.

They Said It:

"I can't believe coach would not put me back in"said Nicholas Faulkner after reports of Faulkner catching trap gas during a lose to the Lakers.

1. (4) Coal Miners

After a dissapointing season last year, the Miners have come roaring out of the gates. They've put together a 3-0 record after puting together a nice 7 point win over Bollingbrook. If Kristof de Potter d'Indoye can contribute just enough, he coud be the missing piece, making the Miners extremely hard to beat. Even if he's not, the way Narces Dalleres and Cristobal Sarcristan Roy are playing, it might not matter.

2. (2) Tenn. Stallions

The Stallions keep on winning. They beat San Diego by 22 and a 14 point win over the het. In a division where there's been lots of change the consistancy of the Stallions and so many weapons, make them nearly impossible to beat.

3.(5) Cincinnati Lakers

The Lakers jump up 2 spots after there impressive beatdown of the Buffalo Wings. They also beat down the LA Thunder. They've managed to have 6 players score in double figures. They only cause for concern is the mini collapse in the fourth quarter against the Wings where they were outscored by 12. As long as they keep that team effort, they should be ok this week against the Bollingbrook Tigers.

4.(1) Buffalo Wings

The Wings fall down 3 spots after losing to the Lakers. For 3 quarters they just looked awful, but they recovered from that loss with a 52 point beatdown of macintosh. They need to channel some of that this week as they have a big game against the Bollingbrook Tigers.

5.(3) Bollingbrook Tigers

After a nice win over WWIAFTM, the Tigers took another step back. They lost to a very good Coal Miners team. That's heading into an extremely hard week where they face both the Buffalo Wings and the Cincinnati Lakers. Former MVP Matthew Jackson, has done basically nothing so far this season. Only Yu Yufa is playing to his potiential so far, and there going to need a little bit more this week.

6.(8) WWIAFTM

After the miami ravens folded this team replaced them as the favorite for 5th place. There currently sitting at 2-1 after losing to the Tigers by 25. They came back from that with a 19 point win over beastode. Gerhard Lauterbach has been the most consistantfor the WWIAFTM geting 2 double-doubles in his last 2 games.

7.(NR) San Diego Makos

Even though this team sits at 5th in the Big 8, I'm still putting this team as the 7th best. There only loss was against the Stallions and they hold wins over the lions and the East Coast Hurricanes. This could be a team to keep an eye on in the future.

8. (7) The Dolphins

Even though the Dolphins lost to lemoss, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt they only lost by 3 after blowing a 5 point lead in the fourth quarter. Alna Richardson contiues to be a bright spot, putting up 29 points in the loss to lemoss.

Game of the Week: Bollingbrook Tigers @ Buffalo Wings

This is rematch of the first round of last years playoffs. Both teams sit at 2-1 and the loser could fall back a bit in the Great 8 race. Will Yu Yufa get enough help to carry his team to victory or will the team effort of the Wings be enough to get the win? This one should be a good one.

great stuff. I thought the only competition I would have is in the Great 8 but the San Diego Makos put up a good fight. Coal Miners good pick up the inside should be fortified I no we are going to have a good game against each other and congrats on beating a IV player in the cup last week. Tomorrow game day the connect button is a in-game chat system. Always thought it was a spam link. Anyway if I can be online I'll inform you on how my game going and I'd like it if you all tell my how yours is going as well

It was a move I made to help give my main PF some help so I looked for a decent one until my developing one comes around in skills. But my new SF an SG are paying off well so my inside an outside attack is more balanced this season.

I finally got to look at that. They have contributed nicely I thought about this for a while. The SF is a total package. His fulls up the score board. I have a question? Why do young managers splurge on average player? I did that even when I started out. I don't have an idea. I look at the forums and still did it. The money I could have.
