Good to see you, Cornballers. It sounds like you've got a good team and some good long-term strategy going. That draft is a bummer. I lucked out and got a decent 19yo.

I also doubt I'll be a title contender this season either. It's a building season for me. Like you, training my main trainee and building the arena will be primary concerns. I'm hoping I can make the playoffs. But as long as I don't demote, I'll be happy.

Lol - I'm pretty sure I saw you in the US forums; but now that I think of it -- family guys does come to mind, haha! Love your team name, banner, and logo! Haha.

@ Kennedy: hey, bro. Good luck this season. Your Arena is looking great!

Thanks. It can always use more work but I'm pretty happy with it as it stands. Hopefully by the end of this season I'll have built it up enough to be able to start putting money toward upgrading my team, especially my front court players. I've seen what a big arena and a high income can do by watching your team go from worst to first in less than a season.

@Rhymin Simon: Millard Smith looks pretty good, for sure, although he was an 18yo from last season and not a draftee this season, am I right? He could be better than Lucas when all is said and done because of his potential.

To everyone: unfortunately, personal circumstances mean that for the foreseeable future, my internet access will only come at the cost of a three-mile walk. So I probably won't be on as much, unfortunately, but I'll still make sure to get on once or twice a week at least to keep managing my team and keep working with Lucas. I just probably won't be as active on the forums, sadly. But that will hopefully change eventually once things get worked out around here, so I'm looking forward to that and hoping that day comes soon.

Hey, man. I hope you're doing alright.

Thanks for the compliment on Smith. You're right on him. He was an 18yo from last season. He came with an inept Inside shot, so I've been trying to get that up to the place where it wouldn't be a liability as an SF. That way I could take advantage of the great ID and RB that he was born with. I'm still trying to figure if it's worth it since he's so short. But that's where I am.

And I have to say, that looks like one heckuva arena. I hope mine will be that good in a season or 2.

Oh. That's unfortunate, bro! I hope things get worked out where ever you live. Sounds like the mountains to me. I go camping a lot, and to get reception, you have to take a hike, haha. It's all good though, lots of fun -- camping, that is.

Anyways, I'm surprised more Gm's aren't active in the forums in this league. I've talked to them via MSG, and most of them were very active a few seasons ago. Weird.

BTW: My first game in D-III is an away game against one of the best teams in the this league. He has an injured player, so whatever the outcome, it should be taken with a grain of salt.

GL - to every one in their season opener,s!

Well congrats on the 24-point win. I didn't get that lucky, but hey, I know I won't win as many games as long as I'm trying to single-position train Lucas and Conanan. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for this season. For now, Lucas got his 48+, so that's what matters.

My own situation is a combination of factors, which I don't really want to go into. Location is one of them, but that could be worked around if not for some of the other factors, which will hopefully change soon, but until then, the situation is pretty awkward. But it's manageable.

@RhyminSimon: like you, I had just promoted last season, and I poured literally all my profits into my arena. Last season I had the cheapest roster in the league (in part because Conanan and Lucas were my best players due to their training, but their salaries hadn't caught up with them yet). So I had a lot of money to spend on my arena. But looking at Magus and Upsyndrome, you can see the value of a large arena, and you can see that mine still has a ways to go. But it will be worth it long run.

Btw, what does everyone think of the Kung Fu Ninja Pirates? full-blown rebuilding mode, sold almost all their good players, but they just made $2million, so it'll be interesting to see what they plan to do.

Thanks, it wasn't the greatest win, but it was a step in the right direction. I'll take it. Soon, I'll be seeing you in D-III/II. You're on your way up. Keep building that arena.

About Kung Fu Ninjas: Once a mediocre team from D-III demotes, it's common for them to re-build -- or at least the smart ones do. After just a few seasons of mediocrity in D-III, you understand that something's need to change. Unfortunately, most of these managers -- who are in the re-building process -- neglect the fact that their arena needs to improve before their roster can. But, hey, not everyone believes in 20K + arenas. I've heard many managers on the BB forums say it was a complete waste of money: "You're never gonna use all of those seats." But, that's their opinions. I've seen managers make it to the NBBA with 12K arena's. So it's possible.

BTW: I was surprised to see LA Killa Beez go down in their first game. I guess the Ninja's had the better roster after being demoted from D-III. They probably had to sell to get under salary. That was a tough loss. But, it looks like they're still the favorites to win it all. This season, anyways. ;)

Hey,

that's awesome, man. 2-0 start this season, and it looks like you could go 3-0 if you win today's game. It's a close one, GL!

Kobeck-

I just realized that your team name referred to Murfreesboro, TN. My dad used to live in Shelbyville like 50 yrs ago. I've been to Murfreesboro once to watch the racking horse national championships. Crazy.

You're ripping through the beginning of your season. Good luck! ... at least until you take on the Clams, in which case I'll need all the luck. ;-)

Hey,

bro. I was watching family guy the other day, and for the first time I realized the "drucken clam sign," haha! It's funny, because I watch that show a lot, but each time they show the bar sceene, I never realize that sign; But, now, each time they show the bar sceene, I can't believe how many times they show that damn sign, haha. I can't stop thinking about it each time they show the sceene!
