Apologies for not replying, I was mid posting my message and didn't notice yours.

I do plan to get his OD to more than Sensational, but it is just that I would mostly go back to it at a later stage after getting it to sensational.

@FuriousSK:

7-8. Ouch.

That would take a while, but he has MVP potential, so wont hit his soft cap (I still barely know how potential works:D), and it is pretty low compared to the other stats that are being trained.

@Everyone:

Correct me if I am wrong (as I am not 100% sure about this, but it would make sense from my experiences), but if a player has low IS, and you train Inside Shooting, which (I think) trains inside shot at (for example) 1-2 weeks, and ID at 4-5 weeks and RBD at 4-5 weeks (random numbers lol), then they would train IS at like, 110% of the speed that it should, and the others at 90%?

I know those figures are probably complete rubbish, but I read something about an elastic band effect or something, which gets lower skills to catch up with the higher ones when training a few stats at a time.

So if that is correct, then he shouldn't take too long at all as his other inside skills are quite a bit higher than his IS.

7-8 wouldn't take that long even out of position. You have 4 weeks after tomorrow to get two pops. thats not too hard. It'd probably take 1-2 more to get the 3rd pop up to inept. That'll help the SF too. As someone else came in and said, both do need to get better at OD minimum, and driving would also need some help.
Me personally? I might be on the lookout for a PF that can be trained in the outside stuff to become a good SF, and you can likely sell the SF to make up for it. but it is your team, and you've now got a few ideas.

Yeah I will give it a go, probably wouldn't try and sell my SF though, but will definitely sort out his inside stats a bit.

Yeah I think I will do the inside training part with letting him tag along. Then I shall swap over to OD/1on1's.

This will give me a chance to get my PG to Marvelous OD as I stopped his training last season at wondrous (as buzzer-manager said he hit his cap, so thought I may as well stop there). (he is 11/10/14/13/13/14)

Thank you for your input, wasn't thinking of doing anymore on either of their passing, but I guess it is a good idea. I have nothing much to focus on apart from these two with the odd other trainee to tag along. Other people who could tag along is the before mentioned PG (but as I said he is softcapped) and two backup 21 year olds (backup SG=10/11/11/10/6/8 Backup PG=8/7/11/9/10/9)

And for any inside training my tag along would be one of these guys-> PF=9/14/12/13 (JS/IS/ID/RBD) C=15/12/12 (IS/ID/RBD backup PF=8/12/10/13 (JS/IS/ID/RBD). Most likely the PF as he gets just more shots than the C with just less minutes, and make mores shots as well. So seems like a good idea to give him the extra IS training. But he is 26 and the C is 24, so maybe it isn't a good idea to do him. And according to buzzer-manager, the PF is 90-100% complete, and the C is 92-100% complete. My backup is one 70-75% though. So touch choice. Probably just for for the PF.

I probably should use the forums a bit more to find out what stats are actually good for what positions to fully understand. I have a decent idea but as with the SG and passing thing I wasn't really aware it needed to/could be useful to have it any higher than it was.

Thanks again for the input!

Ha hey man, hows things?

I did another thread as I am sick of being a noob when it comes to what my players should have for skills. Maybe you could check it out so I can take it down soon (so people I play don't get a look inside my team)

Not sure how to link a specific thread apart from copying the URL, hopefully it works

I clicked the "www" box above my typing section, and in place of the http://www. , I put the number that is in the top-right corner of your comment (it is above the time the person posted). Hope this helps.
