Yup, that's definitely different in the new GE.

It has been quite common to see a player in position X foul a player in position Y, and to see a player in position X shooting over a player in position Y. It's not random, there's still a criteria there, and it's still more common to see X vs. X and Y vs. Y, but it's definitely different now.

As to the 1-3-1 formation. I can't give you 100% on this because it's not written in the rules anywhere, but it's rational to think it should be PG - SG, SF, PF - C. I say it's rational because it's the natural defensive order. PG will usually be the first defensive option because he'll be responsible for defending against the opponents PG, which will probably be the guy who will carry the ball from the defensive side to the offensive one, being therefore the first guy your team should defend against.

Written by Leucaruth:
Pg into 1

SG C PF into 3

SF into 1 cause he needs to run from side to side of the triple zone, and centers will be to slow

--> In real B-ball this is the way to play a 1-3-1 defense. The last man has to take the guy that gets the ball in both corners. Your Center stays "central" in the bucket and takes always low-post ball-side.

I am also interested if this is also the case in Buzzerbeater.
