Last season in a tough D-IV league, I used the outside game pretty effectively and promoted. We shot 36.2% on 3s, and my starting backcourt and SF were all over 41%. The truth is few teams at that level can adequately defend a trio of distance shooters. And they carried me all the way.

At the next level, that's no longer going to work. We're shooting 26% from behind the arc this season, and I've added two strong inside players to balance the attack better.

I will be interested to see how it works for you. I am not the sort of person who thinks in a game you have to do what everyone else does. It should be fun and creative, and you should enjoy your team. Buck away at that trend!

With trying to train 4-5 players at SF/PF I am more of a 2 guard shooting set. However, my best 3PT shooter this season thus far is my PF Which is not too surprising, he shot 31% last season.

I am sure my percentages will improve as I play more games with higher enthusiasm. I am averaging 33% right now. Last season I shot 29% but I was transitioning a lot of players as I was removing my Div 5 lineup. I also added 2 more premium shooters in this off-season.

I will be trying at least one season in Div III with an outside scoring lineup. I am interested as well to see how I do The nice thing about old guys is that I won't get too attached and I as expect to suck in Div III I will welcome the lower salaries!

We've had some outside shooting teams in III.5 in the past several seasons - two seasons ago Deronimo came two points short of promotion in the tiebreaker. I've pretty much transitioned to a Princeton-based outside team, and we've had other teams be pretty successful the past seasons running a lot of motion or R&G.
