Hello Joe,
It's interesting to read your analysis and your take on the coming season in the BBBL.
You clearly are a coach who knows what he is talking about, and i read all your posts with great interest.
It is true, this is our first season EVER in this great first division, the BBBL.
After 4 consecutive runner-up places in the 4 previous seasons in II.3 we finally managed to promote to the BBBL, and thus achieving our long-awaited goal.
Off al the teams in the BBBL, there are a few we already know a bit. These are Vottem Cowboys first of all, because i have been following your team for several seasons now, because for me you are the best Belgian team and absolutely the team to beat, also in the coming season. I also think you are a very skilled manager, your team has always been an inspiration for me. I think you have an amazing track record in our Belgian competition, and also played several very good seasons in B3, a competition only for the BuzzerBeater elite. For me, up till present time your team Vottem Cowboys has always been the favourite for the title in Belgium, and also for winning the cup. We have to go back very far in BuzzerBeater history to see when your reign actually started, and to see it is already more than a decade in BB time that you are ruling the BBBL. So in short, Vottem Cowboys rulez big time! Will there be a team in the near future to really challenge you ? The future will tell. Also this season, and despite the fact you don't seem to think so, you remain the favourite, in my opinion. The question for me is, how long will your reign in Belgium last ? One thing's for sure, the team that wants to win the BBBL title, has to get past you, which is the hardest obstacle to pass.
Then there is KV Forever who played with me in II.3 in season 20, and to whom i lost the playoff final that season, which meant promotion to the BBBL for KV Forever and has remained in this league ever since, so good job Polleforever for building a great team, and now being one of the best teams in the first conference, if not the best. You certainly made good progress the last seasons, that's for sure !
More or less the same goes for Royal Canin. This team played with me in II.3 in seasons 17, 18, 19 and 21, and to whom i lost the playoff final in season 21, which meant promotion for Royal Canin and also has remained this league ever since. And I think Bradok did a superb job of maintaining his BBBL spot in the second division, which is a very strong conference from what i can tell, certainly stronger than the first conference. So congrats to Bradok, for being able to keep his spot in this conference and proving he has a team that certainly merits a place in the BBBL. Honestly, I never liked playing against Royal Canin in second division, because this has always been a team that was very hard to beat for me, mostly because of the managing skills of Bradok.
All the other team are new for me, and so it will take some time for me getting to know the teams better. Because i believe you have to know your opponent, to know how to beat them.
Joe, I am flattered by your motivating and promising analysis of my team. I only hope i can live up to those expectations, because reaching fourth place in my first ever season in the BBBL, won't be easy. Although, there's one thing with which i apparently have been lucky, and that is that i ended up in the first (blue) conference. Because from what i can tell, the red conference seems much stronger than the blue conference, by a margin. So I am thankful for that, which gives me a chance to possibly remain the BBBL at the end of this season.
It is true what you said, the Eagles are well prepared for the BBBL, our arena is almost like we wanted it to be and our roster is pretty strong. The only thing we currently lack is dept in our roster, as our starting 5 are much stronger than the reserve players. This is something we will have to fix if we want to become a permanent...
