And winning is what we did, didn't we? I said I would have selected him if it was a close matchup. Yesterday it wasn't.
So now we have a win, AND we have 7 spots left on the team, despite already using 2 to save players from retiring.
There is no guaranty our only two guards with good GS (Cornoldi and Phojun) will keep high GS and stay uninjured all season long, and if the other guards have better GS, they wouldn't even be on the lineup, so I would have wasted 2 roster spots.
Sorry about the aggressive comment, but to me it just seemed that you were just reacting to King's non-selection. I stand by my GS rule, but when you only deal with 6-7 GS, that's pretty obvious a starter will only have average GS.

Good effort with all the NT-related things, guys. That goes out to NT/U21 coaches and helpers. Doing well.

Thanks for the kind words :)

I think only teams that trained GS had a problem (i.e. no effect on GS), but I don't believe that was the case for any of our guards. Poor GS was due to minutes management:
Jarvis - 130min (Beanerz going bot)
Jolly - 97min (his owner didn't have access to a computer before cup game - I checked with him, shouldn't happen again)
Barreiro-Valverde - 75min, average GS is a bit of bad luck, but playing in Naismith has its drawbacks...
Rouillard - 48min, strong GS, lacking quite a bit in skills compared to BV (esp. JS) so only used as a backup despite the stronger GS
King - 48min (bad luck on GS), also lacking in skills compared to Jolly (esp. Pa). With strong GS I would have selected him instead of Jolly, although with the same GS Jolly is superior. Jolly's owner answering to my bb-mail helped me decide.

For optimal GS, 48min is a bit low, closer to 60 is best (sweet spot is 55-65min in my mind)

I don't think it is as big a deal with your own player and in a case where it is a game well in hand.

But in the past, I've had disagreements with my player (Sammons) being left off who was substantially better than other bigs that made the team and it resulted in a sour taste in my mouth that had me no longer interested in training Canadian NT players. So these sorts of decisions do have an impact on managers decisions to train/keep good GS for NT players. It is good to maintain that culture of respecting managers that train and keep good GS even if games are in hand, and the merch bonus can be important for managers.

Also watch what you say on public forums.

Ex. Player A and player B have the same skills except player B has very low IS.

NT managers (or their scouts) with time and effort will find and use this information.

Yeah that's why I wanted to select players before the economic update on sunday evening.
The thing is we didn't have any manager to reward when it comes to guards, especially PG :D (well except me!)
King will get selected, it's just a matter of time, and because he's so young he will become one of the greatest guards in the NT history. There is no point in rushing it, I don't want to lose a game at the end of the season because we don't have any spot left on the roster (injuries / bad GS). I already used 2 spot to save players, so basically we have only a 16-spots roster at least for a long part of the season, that does not leave much room for injuries.
Managers will be rewarded, but right now patience is the byword.

And I don't have any grudge against anyone, so any player has his chance ;)
