No, it is not worthless.. The ranking determines the maximum salary of a player you can buy for your team..

That's true. Let's say it was thought for when we had 50k+ users, not at 18k and now it's largely worthless.

What's the maximum you can but at 19k ranking anyway? 70k? My Utopia team is 2085 and can purchase up to $767,386 which is higher than an entire D1 roster nowadays. When I was around no. 100 on my main team I think it was around $2 million or so.

Exactly. Note that your ranking will improve even if you don't beat human managers: you need to make some progress in your country's cup next season.
