I give u the best example how to build a perfect 3-2 zone:

PG: OD max
SG: OD max
SF: OD max
PF: ID, RB, SB max
C: ID, RB, SB max

A zone is only as strong as its weakest link. So it's best if all parts of the zone are the same size. So 3 Guards in the 3-chain and 2 center in the 2-chain.

The bigs play a lot helpside because they have no real matchup. SB is the perfect skill for helpside. If your opponent plays LI, their guards drive to the bucket and your Center is waiting to block him out of the arena!

btw, Im germany U21 Coach and look at season 38. Nearly every important game was 3-2 zone even when the opponent plays LI. We made it to semi finals:

Look at Season 38...

3-2 ist easy to build because you can easy defend inside tacticts. Its hard to build a SF with OD and ID, its also hard to defend driving guards with ID of your guards. If you have a 3-2 with 3 guards, 2 Center with a lot of SB, you will never have such problems.

My questions always seem to get the least responses.

But useless in 3-2 because the SF defends only outside

yeah of course, I would prefere ID on Guards, but only in M2M. SB isnt worth to be trained

Ok, let me hear your opinion about need of rebounding and ID for PG, SG and SF when playing 3-2 zone?

Statistical support or anecdotal based on your prior teams? It was my understanding that it was more useful in zones than m2m. Also, is there shot vs. sb calculation on outside shots the same way it is used against inside shots.

Or am I completely missing the way the game engine calculates shots being made.

I'm trying to train a 3-2 team. My goal was

PG OD=x SB=x
SG OD=x SB=x
SF OD=x SB=x
PF ID=x SB=x
C ID=x SB=x

The idea is no weak link in the zone and lots of missed shots.

Great defensively or wasted on perimeter SB that could have been more OD.

ID: As much as possible. But i dont think i would spend time training it.

- 3-2 dont slow down your rebounding, so I think it would be nice if your SF has RB.

- You dont need ID on PG,SG,SF. They dont defend under the basket. Best example:

Opponent: LI

1: You play M2M
2: You play 3-2

1: The guard of the opponent team drives to the basket. Your Guard has to defend him, so he comes with him under the basket. You guard needs ID

2: The opponent guard drives to the basket. Under the basket waits your Bigman to shotblock him. Your Guard dont need ID, he only needs OD to slow their offense that they take difficult shots!
