There are 18 teams in BuzzerBeater Asia. The teams are drawn into three first-round groups of eight teams and play a round robin from week 2 to week 8. The top four teams from each group are placed into one of two 2nd round groups, with results not carrying forward. 2nd round is played from week 9 until week 13. The top two teams in each group advance to semifinals during week 14 and finals the Friday of week 14. The two finalists qualify for the World Championships. The remaining semifinalists as well as the 3rd placed teams in each 2nd round group qualify for the Second Chance Qualifiers.

Four teams from each confederation qualify for the Second Chance Qualifiers. They will be drawn randomly into four groups such that each group contains one team from each confederation. No seeding will be given based upon either World Ranking or order of finish in the continental championships. Each group is a single round robin, and the top team in each group advances to the World Championships. The second chance qualifiers take place from week 1 until week 3 in even-numbered seasons. Between zero and four teams from each confederation will qualify via this process.

Makaysia has no hope agst the mighty Aussies! So we'll concentrate on India. We will bounce back after unexpected losses to both Hanguk and Philippines.

Qualified: Australia, South Korea, Philippines, India
Eliminated: Kazakhstan, Malaysia

India takes the final spot with a one point 90-89 victory over Malaysia. India lost leading scorer Tanvir Gnanam to an injury with 9 minutes remaining, and watched Malaysia build their lead to 6 at the 7:21 mark. But India did not give in, and held Malaysia to a single free throw over the remainder of the game.

Note: All three teams in contention have qualified for at least 2nd chance. A China win or Japan loss qualifies China for the worlds. A China loss and a Japan win creates a three way tie for qualifying.

In Contention: Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand
Eliminated: Saudi Arabia, India

Note: Hong Kong qualifies for semifinals with a win. Indonesia-Thailand winner qualifies for at least 2nd chance qualifier, but would need to overcome a big point differential to overtake Hong Kong. Loser is completely eliminated.

Semifinals are China vs Hong Kong and Australia vs Japan. Winners advance to the World Championships. loser go to 2nd Chance qualifying.
