I think there was at least one European country. I'm sure there were people in the merged nations who were against it too. Their views were not deemed important enough to stop the merge. Nor should others in the future if it was decided to merge more nations.

... This would make it easier for teams in Nations to receive merchandise from local Nationality players, just like other big countries are doing with their local players.

Are you sure, that if you are "Nations of Europe" and you buy a "Nations of Europe"-player, he is not counted as "own nation"-player?

I think this could easily be answered by BB-Justin oder CM-Alonso ...

I'm in Nations of Asia, when I draft a player they get Japan citizenship, not Nations of Asia. I think this is working correctly.

In fact, I've never seen a player with Nations of citizenship. Can you show us one?

That's his point. They don't exist, so there's no merchandise income for him when he has Scottish, Welsh etc. players on his team. He wants 'nations of' citizenships to be implemented in the game.
Even though I do like the sight of that Scottish flag in the player's menu and I would love to get rid of the 'nations of europe' flag from my team page, I think it's a suggestion worth discussing.
