Not sure if anyone really knows the optimal age for trainees yet, as the transfermarket is not that big yet, and with almost no higher skilled players.

When you choose rebounding, there is a 2nd pulldown menu, which allows you to select C-PF or Team. Team training trains everyone, but at a slower rate. For each skill there are similar position selections.

Read the training section of the rules. Players need to play 48 minutes each week to get the full benefit of the training, so with 3 games a week you might be able to train 6 players at C-PF, but that might mean using 2nd stringers in one of your league games. The "Weekly Stats" shows you how many minutes each player has played at each position this week. The match on Saturday was the first gane for this week.

I play hattrick and im guessing that optimum training ages will be similar to hattrick. which is 17-21 thereafter trainging will go much slower. Also due to hattrick im under the impression that some kind of training regime would be more useful that training random skills to increase all areas. Obviosuly basketball is along different to football and there fore it won t be possible to train only one skill type and make them a good player. certain skills like rebounding and shot blocking will go hand in hand and it says in the rules that related skills will help traingin work faster.

But i can see that training a certain position and related skills instead of a full team will take less time and be more beneficial economically. Therefore allowing you to sell these players as they get better and replace the other members of the team with the money from selling the trained players.

Although i'm starting with stamina for a few weeks to get that up them i have no idea what to train...i'll have to see how things work once i get into the swing of things!

On another note...are there any stats for the time certain skills take to train and the like?

Also i only have a trainer:1 is it worth getting a trainer with a higher level? does that increase training speed?

The rules suggest that the training will be faster if a player has complementary skills (a good rebounder and inside defender will pick up shotblocking quicker). So that is different from HT.

But the rules also suggest that you train more players than you need at some positions, and trade for the others, which is like HT.

Players in BB are somewhat older. I have had one 18 YO, and mostly 19 YO are the youngest. I don't know how much of an age impact there is for training, there is one, but I don't know if it is as severe as HT. Also the rules mention that there is an height effect on training speed, a big man will pick up inside skills quicker, and a shorter player will pick up outside skills quicker.

There has been a long thread about training speeds, but I didn't really read it. BB may be a little more complex, since training is based on minutes played, and it may difficult to get 48 minutes every week for each trainee, it might make sense to switch training around even when using the same skill (rebounding for C-PF one week, for C-PF-SF others).

My coach is a 5, so I've hesitated when a 9 has been offered, because of the salary, but I might have upgraded a 1 coach. I've left my doctor at 1, and so far I haven't had any injuries that lasted longer than the end of the game. I did upgrade my PR guy.

Hi all! n00b here.. I read in this thread that saturday is the first game of the week. So I guess the "minutes played count" starts then. I got my team yesterday, played my first team today, and so I should play my best players in friday's scrimmage as well to get the necessary 48 minutes for training?

And yes, when does the training occur?

Training will occur sometime after your scrimmage.

And as to which players to play Friday, it's up to you. You can get your best players their full training, or get more players a little less training. Either way, you win! ;)

Oh, and one more question. Let's say I wanna train Jump Shot (Guards), and I play my trainees like this:

Saturday:

Trainee1: 34 min as PG
Trainee2: 11 min as C
Trainee3: 30 min as SG
Trainee4: 18 min as SG backup

Tuesday:

Trainee1: 14 min as PG backup
Trainee2: 37 min as SG
Trainee3: 10 min as SF backup
Trainee4: 34 min as PG

Now - who gets training?

Trainee1: 48 min total as PG = yes?
Trainee2: 48 min total as C and SG = yes, but only for the 37 min as SG?
Trainee3: 40 min total as SG and SF = yes, but only for the 30 min as SG?
Trainee4: 48 min total as SG and PG = yes?

Is my assumption correct?
