I've played quite a bit of run and gun, and am considering switching to motion. I'm usually at a rebounding disadvantage so the thinking is that a slower pace will result in less missed shots, minimizing my weakness on the boards. However, if the ratings boost from motion is less than run and gun, the tradeoffs may just cancel each other out (better OS at a faster pace vs. worse OS at a slower pace). Also, I looked at a few games w/ motion offense and it seemed that a larger percentage of total shots taken were 3 pointers, which wasn't my impression from reading the rules. I was wondering if perhaps I just looked at a skewed sample or maybe I didn't account for things like playing from behind or fouls on two point shots.

I appreciate the response, but you basically just quoted the rules to me. Hopefully someone with more practical knowledge will come along ;)

If your team has greater Out-Shooting than the opponents Out-def...and your inside is little weaker than his ins-def...then you play run-gun to higher your own speed cause you probably get more points that way. More chances in the game (higher pace) = more chances you get and your off was better than his def ...so you should get more points your self.. he will also get more chances...
