If you have good inside scorers.... why use princton. Doesn't really make sense.

Princeton increases inside focus, so why wouldn't you?

NO ONE at this table ordered a rum & Coke

A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me

yep, along with other good reasons

anyway, really just wondering if anyone else has seen an un-proportional number of shots go to their PG using this tactic. if not, how has it been working for other teams

Princeton has both inside and outside focus. It's not 50/50, it depends on the situation. I'll say a bit more outside than inside. Since you be shooting more 3's than 2's. The inside focus just is there to get the outside free AND take easy shots when there are any.You be passing a lot from in to out and vice versa, to get a clear 3 point shot. If there is a easy inside shot. then they get it inside to do a easy inside shot/dunk. Expect your team to shoot a lot form the outside if there aren't any easy shots from within the paint.

If you really want more inside focus.. you're better off with look inside or Low post.

He's not looking for inside focus.

He's looking for people who have used Princeton and what their experiences have been.

Did you even read the rest? His main question was why his PG shoot that much. Then he states that he has better inside than outside shooters. So thats why i asked why he used princeton if he had better inside shooters. Then you said that princeton has increased inside focus. Then i just explained why princeton was both inside and outside focused. And That's the reason why his PG shot so much. Was just adding a bit to your comment. period.

@brian
You will find that your outside players will take a lot of shots by using princeton therefor it's a slightly less effect tactic for your team since you don't want your PG to shoot that much and you clearly state that you have very good inside shooters. And if your PG shoots more than your SG or SF.. then so be it. You can't simply explain it by just figures. That means you would have figured the game system out. It's more fun to have some unpredictability in this game. Not always will your players play the way you want them to play. Maybe next time you use princeton your PG will shoot 50% of your SG's shots. I have used princeton a few times. And i also see that my SG and PG shoot a lot. As a matter of fact my PF shoot sliglty more than my PG. It's just random like that. If they can take the shot they'll take it.

so you suggest going look inside/low post against a strong inside defense, while being predictable and playing the same tactic over and over? Also, while my inside scorers might be better, it doesn't mean that my outside shooters are crap. This isn't about whats best for my team either, which has a lot of experience with look inside/low post.

this was just a simple request to others with experience playing princeton, and how their shot distribution was.

Never said your outside shooters were crap and therefor go look inside/low post. Or that you should play the same tactics over and over. I simply said you'd be better off. No need to feel offended or whatsoever. I answered all your questions.. about shot% PG to my own experience with princeton. If you find it more important to look at the other opinions i had and neglect the answers to your questions, then so be it.

Keep this on-topic.

This is starting to stray into a flamewar and away from what the original poster was asking.
