As for your rant about the SEC....you are probably right that it happens everywhere, but the NCAA can't investigate every kid that has a nice thing or drives a nice car...they don't have the money or the man power and it is all speculation...has to be something substantial. They investigated the Cam Newton thing and believe it or not, Auburn was clean. I live in SEC country and HATE the SEC fans and teams...loathe them, but Miss St. was the one that offered money...now why haven't they been punished? I dunno, I guess because no money changed hands?

The fact you bring up cars is funny since TP had a different one every other week and nothing ever happened to OSU with the car dealership....which was a shock to me considering a fair amount of players were involved. They just couldn't find the paper trail or hard evidence, but when TP drives away in a sweet ride with dealership tags while on camera, everyone knows what's going on you just have to be able to prove it, and the NCAA couldn't in that case. Sure your argument is going to be "well if they couldn't prove it then they did nothing wrong." However isn't that the exact same argument Alabama fans would use? Yet, you are calling them out for cheating because you aren't happy with what happened to your school.

Now, how in the world are you going to throw Mark Richt under the bus???? He was trying to compensate people fairly and what he did was an act of kindness, not an egregious act of trying to knowingly cheat. What competitive advantage did he get? He was still given a secondary violation, which by the rules, is all he was supposed to get.

Man I know you are mad because your program did some dumb things, but I think slinging mud at other programs isn't the way to go....just makes you look bitter. lol

Also, it seems a bit fair despite the fact that your new coach was telling Dunn and Co. that there weren't going to be harsh penalties, right? /seen through Maize/Blue glasses

Exactly, my main problem was with Gee and Smith either getting bad info, or flat out lying (which I hope they weren't stupid enough to do) to those kids. Also, I'd imagine most if not all schools negatively recruit other teams, it's just what goes on.

I agree, having Michigan seemingly back is good for the B1G and college football as a whole. It seems the former unbalance we've had the past couple years is over.

As for OSU stuff. The main reason why OSU got the penalty they did is because of JT's cover up. Period. Rightfully so I might add. When you know you cheated and don't report that's going to do you in. Just ask Dez Bryant what dishonesty did for him in a much weaker case. After the cover up they self reported other things....so in your wisdom this makes up for the other? I'm actually surprised the scholly losses weren't worse.

If you want to talk about academic fraud, look at FSU. The case at UNC isn't nearly as bad and their individuals that had contact with agents had much stiffer penalties than your tattoo barterers. As for cars, the burden of proof was not found at OSU but you know as well as I do that illegal benefits happened there...they just covered it up nicely. Is it the same at Bama as you say? Sure, but according to your logic, if they can't prove it then it wasn't illegal.

As for not bringing up OU, that is ridiculous. First off, Stoops has ran a very clean program and is more of a disciplinarian than most other college coaches. He actually disciplines, suspends, and kicks kids off the team...unlike your new coach who was at Florida and let his criminals run around without consequence. Has OU in the past been involved in NCAA violations? Sure. Are they the "dirtiest program every"? Give me a break. The current example with Bomar/Lineman is a GREAT example as to why OSU got what they deserved. If they would have self reported when JT found out AND disciplined their own players then they wouldn't be missing a bowl next year. OU self reported, cooperated with the NCAA, and got rid of the guilty parties. If Herron, Posey, TP, and the D-lineman were punished and JT self reports, then OSU may not have lost 1 scholarship. So for you to write off the OU example because of the Switzer era is ridiculous.

As for a "2 year bowl ban", I think that is a bad way to look at it. Those kids went to the sugar bowl and got a free week in New Orleans plus gifts...are they giving those gifts and experience back? Nope. Are you saying that USC got a 3 year bowl ban instead of 2? I'm not...and it would be exactly the same as your example.

PS, if you don't think Urban Meyer used negative recruiting to flip one PSU commit and land Noah Spence as well then you are crazy.

Pretty fair answers I guess. For the record, I wasn't an OU fan until 2001 when I started attending there. I also am not a fan of Switzer. Met him multiple times and he wasn't a bad guy to talk to, I just didn't like how he handled himself and ran his programs...including the cowgirls. I actually went to church with one of his sons, Doug, who was a really good guy.

As for punishing the next class, well what else can they do? Nothing that makes sense. They did, however, punish JT pretty severely, which I was very happy with. Carrol didn't get anything with the reggie bush deal...and yes I know it's different scenarios, but still.
