I'm not tanking the season, hell no. Just should have played that game smarter since I don't really have a roster yet.

In response to this, we're changing the end-of-season distribution of finances: Starting this season, instead of paying no player salaries, teams in fifth place will be required to pay 50% of player salaries for the first playoff week. In addition, as an incentive for third and fourth place teams, playoff attendance revenue will be split 50-50 between the two teams instead of 67-33 in favor of the home team.

Ahaha. You done sir! :D

It sounds to me that the fifth place teams would be unfairly penalized. They don’t receive any attendance revenue from playoffs or relegation series and still have to pay 50% salaries? If anything the 2 fifth place teams should play against each other for some gate receipts.

Tough has 3,000 – 5,000 posts in 3 seasons? His posts are okay? Is there anybody on Buzzerbeater that can approach those numbers? His IV.29 had 307 posts last season compared to 225 posts here. If you are referring to his bad language in the BB USA Forum yesterday on “The Eagle” then it is not okay.

Unfortunately I just read on “The Eagle” that the future of Tough as a GM will be decided at a hearing before the BB Players Association Player Mistreatment Committee.

If you haven’t done recaps for several seasons you don’t really know how much time and effort goes into them. My D4 league needed a boost to get them motivated. This league already has 85 posts this season while my D4 league has 8.

Buzzerbeater does not give us enough stats for our information. Many good stats are available for each league on Buzzer-manager.com. You don’t need to be a Supporter but you need an access key that you can set up under Preferences. This season they added arena size. As a stat freak I find this information useful.

If I had not received a bot-promotion you would have had an easy victory. You were very short handed in the front court and could have used your new PF. As to the large discrepancy in fouls it could be that you were more aggressive on defense. You did have more field goal attempts 94-77. I shot too many 3-pointers especially since you did not have a good PF available for the game.

You’ll get your revenge in your enormous arena. My attendance was terrible because I set some of my arena prices too high thinking that everything goes up in D3 and not down.

There are games that we are not going to win so we can save our best lineups for the next game while building up enthusiasm.

No recaps today but it looks like several teams played TIE on opening day. Be sure to play TIE against me. I am not going to ruin my season by playing crunch unless I am desperate.

For now I am just enlarging my arena, hoping to win a few cup games, and staying out of last place. My D4 roster will probably not be upgraded any time soon unless I get hit with an injury bug.

I have a draft pick with MVP potential that I might keep but he not good enough to play at all in this league.

That Chinese D3 team who paid $2,718,700 for the 18 year old potential hall of famer is rebuilding what was an old roster. They now have 9 - 18 year olds, 1 - 19 year old, 1 - 20 year old, and 1 - 32 year old. They also added another 18 year old potential hall of famer for $1,595,000.

Their arena size is at 18,520 with a high of 18,144 in their Semi-final.

Yesterday they used a strange 3-man lineup and their new USA player had 38 points, 13 rebounds. Their other new expensive addition only had 6 points, 12 rebounds.

I do not know what is considered to be a reasonable sale price for an 18 year old with hall of fame potential. It is the market that determines prices.

It does seem that they are "penalized" but are they really? First of all they only need to pay the first week of the playoffs, which is not that bad seeing how its only 50%. That week is basically treated as the last week of the regular season and the start of the playoffs. Now comparing it to the real NBA, which is something that should not be done, teams still basically have to pay the player on their last week of work.

Now you may argue that it isn't their last week of work and it was the week before because they won't play a game the following week, but this is the only reasonable reason for it to be "fair".

I think it is the right move because it would stop teams from actually trying to get into that 5th spot. Usually in any real sport, all teams aim for the playoffs, but that does not really happen here since you actually save more/gain more money by not making the playoffs.

I do think that the 2 5th place teams should play against each other, but there would be no reason for that. So until they BB's find a reason for the 2 5th place teams to play each other, this new 5th place thing will be looked as a penalty.

I mean really, a team that did not make the playoffs should really not be better off than the 4th place team, I guess this is a penalty for not making the playoffs then. Whatever at least there will be more competition for the playoffs and more competitions = more fun!

*EDIT* I would agree with Ram who posted after this, but since I'll never be 1st/2nd I won't have to worry about that!
