I forget how many seasons I have played this game for now but I maintain my stance that the draft is a waste of money.

Allow me to present my counterpoint...

(25103755)
(25103763)
(28768870)
(30030473)

They all came from the draft, and that's not even counting two other draftees that I sold for good money (one of them fetched 300k!), or the 19yo allstar that I drafted last season and have as a secondary trainee now...

And for the most part that was whilst only spending 10k per week on scouting. I was spending 20k for a couple of seasons when I was trying to find a 5/5 to turn into my franchise player, but once I managed to draft Cicvaric at the end of season 22 (bot league), I came back down to 10k.

Star potential isn't too bad, especially if they're trainable as small forwards. Here's what John Reith looks like now (94-100% potential limit);

Jump Shot: prolific Jump Range: strong
Outside Def.: tremendous Handling: sensational
Driving: prolific Passing: proficient
Inside Shot: respectable Inside Def.: prominent
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: mediocre
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: mediocre

And the guy I sold for 300k actually came to me as an 18yo Starter potential player, who I trained anyway because I didn't have a lot in the way of trainees at the time and didn't want to get involved in bidding wars revolving around the inevitable 'good draftees who get sold for big $$$' craze.

No, group demonstration then i scouted then interviewed.
Generally i interview all 5 star rating players.
I've never really found any correlation between their box scores and potentials, however once all 5 star players have been interviewed ill go on their box score performance relative to their position. If that makes sense. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Out of my 6 interviewed players this season I've found 3 of them have 3 ball ratings one has 4 and the other 2 have 5 ball ratings.

I think the draft is worth it it does increase your chances of a good pick. I was able to make a quick million off my MVP SG back in season 23 i think. and 700k off my C last year. One of the main reasons I was able to win last year with such a cruddy arena was by selling those two off.

It has taken a toll on me this year though as i've based this years revenues on building an arena up to every other teams size.

nope i dont think there is any correlation between box score and potential, BUT, in another selfless plug of my own handiwork, there are relationships between box scores and skill sets.

Interesting work. Passing is particularly handy to know. I've rearranged my draft order because of it. I read another article before about the expected potential you'll get from the five different ball ratings. I think it was:
1 ball - announcer, bench warmer,
2 ball - role player, 6th man
3 ball - starter, star, all star
4 ball - perennial all start, superstar
5 ball - MVP, HOF, ATG
I can't seem to find the forum for it but it was something like that

oh HO effin SNAP

1 point win, with a buzzerbeater as well, to nail HCA for the LInguits in the first round of finals. What a bizarre finish to the regular season!

I actually thought two things could happen today - either Vios 'rests' his players (ie: avoiding injury) handing YSD a win, or i lost against KKK (which I didnt tihnk would happen personally)......

when i was down by like, 10 at one stage in the 2nd i think it was, i was like oh well, whatever.

1 point win thank you very much! Doesn't buzzerbeater just throw some real effin curve balls at you every now and again...... So glad i didnt watch it live, i would have cussing like a trooper

Personally I dont understand KKK's decision to play more enthusiasm than I..... There was no advantage for him winning, so why not save the enthusiasm and try to POCT Vios in first round of final;s?Even if he won, he was always going to finish 4th... he doesn't have a bad team and strange things have happened in finals (vios gets an injury or something) so yer. strange decision IMO.

Because Seducer has taken a very logical approach to deciding how much enthusiasm to use in the past...[/sarcasm]

Guess I havee to reply and hello's! Either way I'm doomed verse Vios so I thought I'd try to keep the fans happy with a home win and keep the survey scores up. Finding it very important for attendances and well wasn't expecting to finish top 4 either more a struggle to stay up. Not looking to do much other than build my stadium and capital at present.
PS. Was expecting my inside players to shoot more and a few less 3 point attempts but I guess through experience with my offensive tactic I should of known better, not to worry and congratulations on the win.

strange things have happened in finals (vios gets an injury or something).

Or maybe Coach Regan gets and injury in PO's, after making a late buy up of all those big studs to push for the ABBL... }:>
