As a small country with 367 users, we only get 3-4 players with MVP or better potential every year on a human team. This year two of these players went on team that were dying. If you'd bothered to read the thread, you would have seen a discussion about whether or not these players could be added to the national teams to save them.

It was decided to put one on each team to allow to not jam one roster with two players that weren't going to play this year, but were needed for the future (i.e. in 3-4 seasons) of our NT. It may be hard to see when you only take a snapshot of the team, but we're thinking in terms of mid and long terms with Essa Abu Kaleel and Chris Thomas, which is why I'm gonna try and pick up Ed Matthews to train him properly as a PG.

You do understand that Rip88 had to bid on the player to get him. He didn't just get him because he's the NT manager. He had to adjust his budget to get that player (a 1.4M$ fee btw).

Anyways, everything you're saying sounds to me like cheap politics trying to set up your run next season at the NT manager spot. That's my 2 cents and I'm done for now!

I dont care if he was lost for ever cause he gives no benefit to the NT team. He has Potential. 2-3 seasons is a fairly long time. Lot of things can happen so what you did was for POTENTIAL not cause of something that will affect the team.

That is what I dont care for. And love how your trying to tell me where I should and should not post. Who made you boss ? This is NT related why should I bring it to mail ? So you can save face ? I have no problems putting my 2cents in and having an open debate about it. Apparently you'd rather hide.

And to answer for harfang I have no intentions of running for NT coach.

I just want to reiterate what Harfang and RIP are saying. RIP is not using the team for his benefit here. In fact, his team is taking a hit to buy this player.

Also, before you post again, I suggest going and reading this thread: (77121.1). You had about two weeks to post your opinion there. Instead you decide to pick on him after the fact. Nice.

I just want to go over the sequence of events here.

1) Essa was drafted by a team about to go bot.
2) RIP opened up a forum topic about adding Essa
3) Everyone in the forum topic is supportive of adding Essa to the team.
4) RIP added the player to the NT team.
5) Essa's team went bot and he was transfer listed.
6) A bidding war ensued (I know this because I had eyes on him but did not have the money in the bank to buy him).
7) RIP ends up buying Essa for over 1.4 million.

If you really wanted this player, why did you not get in on the bidding? Essa was already on the NT when he became a free agent. Anyone could have picked him up, not just RIP.

As Juicepats said, nothing illegal is going on here. I'll go even further and say nothing immoral is happening here. In fact, my personal opinion is that this will only serve to make the U21 and NT better in the future.

Maybe your getting the wrong idea..

I dont want the player. Sorry if I didn't catch it while it was happening I certainally would have spoke up then. However I was going thru a new transition to a new job with work. Was studying to write an exam like a mad man and my time on this game slipped.

What I dont like it taking advantage of a situation for personal reasons. I'm ok with what Paulo did cause he did not do it for personal reasons. He did it for the better of NT.

However RIP sent me a message long ago "If you don’t intend to train your prospect or you don’t have much interest in BB and will end up just leaving the game (generally logs on once a week), I would greatly appreciate if you would put your player on the transfer list. Many others out there are willing to train your player right so don’t hesitate to TL him if you feel you can’t train him properly"

And honestly it's none of his business what I plan on doing. Not to mention with the fact I've been around for I believe 5 seasons now and his lack of attention was rather insulting.

Please explain to me how he used his position as NT coach to take advantage here? As I explained to you, everyone in BB had a shot at the player, not just RIP.

Now I get it. This is about your ego and has nothing to do with the NT. Please, take your personal beefs with him somewhere else.

If you have something constructive to say about the NT, let's hear it.

Wow you guys are something.. Lets see you call yourself a GM which is suppost to be a leader in the community and here you are running your mouth afoul.

He took advantage of his position by putting the person on the NT team for his own reasons. I doesn't matter if everyone had a shot etc.. he knew how much he had banked and would have known he could have pushed pretty hard for him. Putting himself in a spot where he had an advantage.

You guys are really blowing this out of proportion. I made one comment and ever since then it's been like I've been personally attacking the person behind the computer.

How are we "running our mouths afoul"?

You're being criticized for not knowing the NT rules and bashing RiP based on your lack of knowledge of those rules.

He took advantage of his position by putting the person on the NT team for his own reasons.

Exhibit A, which is not true in real life.

I'm the longest-running NT manager in the game (along with anyone else that may have won all 3 NT elections), so I think I have an idea of how this NT business works.

Any NT manager worth his salt is tracking 18 year old players from their birth until either:

A. They're good enough for the NT, or

B. They've reached the point where they will never develop enough to make the NT.

You can't run an NT with the "oh, here's the best X amount of players in the country, they're added, I'll now set a lineup once a week and I'm great."

It doesn't work that way.

Players need to be developed to keep the pipeline of talent flowing with new faces as the current players age and their training slows to a crawl.

The USA NT has 162 overall candidates right now, of which 56 are 18 years old. If one of our great 18 year olds were in danger of being lost when a team went bot, you're damn right I'd do the same exact thing RiP did in adding him to the team before he went bot (i.e. still on another team). If you're not aware, if a player is not on an NT and goes bot, he is forever lost to the BB world, NT included.

What RiP has done is beneficial to the Canada National Team, by saving a player, and then purchasing him for a good amount to ensure that he would continue to receive training.

The player pool isn't infinite as far as NT-worthy players go in any country, and for the 34th biggest country in BB it's even more restricted.

If you could point out what benefit RiP is receiving by placing this player on the team, that would be a start.

You guys are really blowing this out of proportion. I made one comment and ever since then it's been like I've been personally attacking the person behind the computer.

No, several of us (including me) pointed out the situation to you, and you chose to ignore the facts and continue to attack.

It's not blown out of proportion when you attack RiP for something that you have little knowledge of, but when you're called out on it suddenly is?

False, misguided personal attacks don't help your cause.

It's not a misguided personal attack.

It's a fact and a quote from World of warcraft actually.

If anything shady was going on, I would be one of the first to point it out (although I imagine ouftete would be the first). Now due to the work of our NT managers, Canada has three hall of fame potential players being trained (instead of one). These are the types of things I expected them to do to make the nt stronger when I voted for them.

I imagine essa and thomas will be removed from the nt as soon as there is an enthusiasm reset - would be stupid to do so before that.
