+1 Most of what Fishy said!
I was expecting it to be a lot harder to win a game here. I have done better than I thought I would. I thought I'd be scraping to get to 6th/7th position for the whole season...
It's not over yet though, I could still end up there over the next few weeks. It's gonna be a tight run home for us guys at 4th-7th.
Good luck everyone!

Its wearing on my mind...

Also how have the new promoted teams found Div II

I've enjoyed having giant wads of cash thrown at me every week

I originally planned on full-on tanking the season with just my 3 trainees and no-one else on my roster, but that got a little boring so I bought some cheap players who should bring me a profit when I sell them before the playoffs. I'm going to buy a full team during the offseason and hopefully sweep through Div 3, should have over $4 million to spend.

I know I can get at least one more win this season, but I don't want to be drafting after Iwen...

Ding.

why arent you on my side?

i considered that too but i had 6 trainees and one big man that i really liked, i had a small 10 man roster anyway and i thought the other3 would pay for themselves with a long cup run (and i had my pl to consider) and then i kept on winning games and now here i am in 3rd...for the moment...

Funny you say you love the great wads of money, because I hate the shortage of money in the league. It al comes to expectations I suppose. I know of at least Razzle having some troubles coming back to this league from ABBL with the drop in income.

I think div II is where you actually have to plan to win games most of the time, and develop a training plan, you can train some very good players in this division, in ABBL they need to be good to start. You can train up good rookies, but you need the time and a good starting 5.

In ABBL training is soooo much harder. Every game is a tactical one, where as in Div II there are some games where you know you will win, so don't have to worry too much about tactics.

The jump from III to II is one that can be managed so you stay up, the jump from II to ABBL is much harder. If I have learnt something, it is pretty much ignore the positions that your players are said to be the best in, and work out how you want to play them and where.

This season I have started to develop that I have 2 different types of SF, one that can play like a frotn court player, and one that can play like a back court player. I swap them depending on what I think I will need against the other team.

With 5 games left I am hoping to finish on top and get the home court advantage in the playoffs, this is a huge advantage I think, especially in the first 2 rounds (I always thought they should play the 1st round best of 1, the 2nd round best of 3, and the final best of 5) but that would take too long in the game.....but the $$$ would be nice :)

Why not just develop one who can do both?

To hard to train with other players in mind.
If I have a small forward that has a strong ID rating, and a small forward that has a strong OD rating, I can then focus on training other aspect for them such as driving, shooting, etc.

I find that having a small forward with strong inside defence and rebounding, and a small forward with stronger outside defence and handling/passing, I can train a skill that suits them and the other guards like shooting or outside scoring, give them both 48 minutes over the week and they both become better players.

I generally train guard type skills including outside shooting, handling and passing, and buy my big men. I find this is working better for me.

I suppose it comes from ABBL where defence is king, in ABBL all they talk about is defence, some more defence, and then for a change....defence.

Ah.

I'm training the most ridiculous SF ever, it's real tough.. But the most rewarding for sure.
