I just have a quick plea to the BB gods that I wanted to throw out there that is somewhat off topic - please, please don't make drastic changes to the BB game engine, economy or training speeds! That is exactly the reason I quit Hattrick (HT) after playing for over 3 years. It is unfathomably frustrating to be playing a game that requires long term planning only to have your planning thrown out the window by rule changes or drastic meddling with the economy.

One prime example from HT - midfielders are generally considered the most valuable because your amount of midfield possession of the ball generated how many scoring chances you would receive. Predictably this led to a premium being paid on midfielders and a simultaneous abundance of midfielder trainers. As a result of this, eventually the market became oversaturated with midfielders and prices plummeted, causing deflation across the board (since all those midfielder trainers were now earning less money to spend on other positions). Instead of letting the market take its course and correct itself (since essentially the HT economy was in a recession and needed broaded diversification amongst the skill trainings), the HT gods pumped the market with gobs of money leading to over-inflation (which apparently they are now trying to correct in some other way).

Another HT example - training takes a very long time for each skill pop, generally 6-8 weeks, so training multi-skilled players is prohibitive time-wise. However, now they have changed the game engine to require multi-skilled players, but not changed the training times enough to compensate.

Anyway, the point of this rant is to just ask the BB-team to not ruin the game by trying to hard to improve it. I have two comments on the state of the BB game, and maybe I am alone in my thoughts here, so please forgive this now lenghty rant.

First, I love the current training speed and wish that it would not be lengthened (especially given the new potential ratings that will lengthen training speeds on its own). Having the possibility of a player pop at any given week is awesome, and even more so with the possibility that such player will pop two weeks in a row.

Second, please don't try to prime the economy in the event of player devaluation. Perhaps there are other reasons to prime the economy (i.e. fans are too finicky after losses, trainers are too expensive, etc.), but trainers are saavy enough to figure out what to train in order to profit.

Apologies for how my "quick plea" turned into a lengthy rant.

Peace out!

I think you'll find that you wont have to worry about this.

Every contemplated changed is analyzed to within an inch (or, for the metric users, 2.54 centimeters) of it's life. Every possible outcome is considered, and that's why changes aren't made on a whim.

You're in good hands here in that regard.

Were any more changes introduced before today's finals ?

I started with 3 enthusiasm, played TIE, and I'm at 4 after the game. I feel like closing BB and never opening it again right now.

Also from my side I don't see the problem. Enthusiasm 3 is one of the worst level I've seen, CT is reducing by 50% your enthusiasm, TIE is giving you the 30% more, so no problem here.

One point that should be discussed is when introduce the "big" engine changes; this time happened at the end of the season and this changed completely the strategy I had for one complete season. I agree to change in any moment the rules about injuries and economy but a change in the game engine (enthusiasm, home or away match, CT and TIE influence) it could be better to be done at the beginning of a season not at the end.
Now I've understood better the new engine, I hope to not find a surprise at the end of next season The work of BBs is really apprechiate as the prompt answers when the comunity makes some proposal, this is the best internet game I've played till now ;)

I wasn't criticizing in any way or form the work of the BBs, it's just that frome experience and talking to others, I was very sure that TIEing from 2 or 3 enthusiasm would bring me back to 5 (that's what happend every single time in the examples I've read on our french forum). And that was just another example of my "bad luck" in the end of season, TIEing 6 times in a row brought me to 9 only before the PO, my best player injured two weeks, and the shittiest draft list ever (two 5 stars over 29 players scouted). Sometimes the random aspect of the game seems to be working against me ;)

(4097603) I played in my SF game Normal, my oponent played CT I had Enthusiasm 8, he had aprox 5, I had Home court adventage, I had better players and all my playes had good game shape (better than his),I had better team ratings, only the tactics I could choose other option....I had everything to win playing normal but I lost..............what to do? Build up Enthusiasm before play offs and then just CT all games? I am first in my league...how can I get promoted if my players starting to do fouls at the end of the game and then miss lots of shots which they did easily 3 min ago....???? anyway has a team which is -5p at the end of the game ever won taking fouls at the end of the game.....(game engine....)......No More CT or TIE!!!!! let the best team win with best players and best tactics during all the season, otherwise there is no sense to build un Enthusisasm during all season and lose sily games if you just can one time CT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Write some normal Rules finaly......The game is good and I like it very much....but I dont want to play in blind enymore.....and rely on random or mystic TIE CT or mystic rules......

This is no bad luck at all, this is just a lack of knowledge about the TIE/CT system.

TIE will raise your enthusiasm with about 30-35%. Let's say you started with 3.0 and TIE is 33% extra enthusiasm, 3.0 + 1.0 = 4.0, just simple math.

2 or 3 back to 5 would mean an increase of about 200%, that would be crazy, you would jump from 5 enthusiasm to 10 then, and from 8 to 16, that would be fun!

"Don't blame the game! Blame the french!"

(oh that's truly one of my best oneliners ever)
