'free market' is influenced by a lot of things. I think some of the suggestions are simply to make training and winning games a skill that can garner equivalent results to training (it makes it more realistic of a basketball league as well as it seems that's what BB is going for). One thing that might help is to take out the highlighted player in the overview... this is from a newb who spent 2/3rds of his starting cash on a useless player because I didn't know anything better. Or potentially not allow the first purchase of a new manager to be for more than half their starting funds... that will reduce some profits from day trading, and reduce the regret from the new managers a week later when they find out they spent 200k on a 30k player.

I think a better suggestion would be to not allow players that have been playing for less than 2 or 3 weeks to bid more on a player than the transfer estimate (the higher amount). So if a player is worth (according to recent transfers) 50k to 100k, then a newbie would not be able to bid more than 100k (and hence perhaps waste his/her money). This would also reduce cheating somewhat (perhaps) as players would have to have their cheating account for multiple weeks before being able to overbid on a player.

I recently paid about 1 million above the TPE for a center just because of several uncommonly high outside skills. Maybe you wouldn't pay that price, but I would because I am well aware that having players with well-rounded skills is more valuable to my team than having a guy who is legendary in inside shot and atrocious in passing and handling.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

Was that sarcasm??? :D You did not pay twise the transfer estimate, now did you? Proves my point exactly.

Edit: + you are a small userbase country team. So you have extra money to throw around ;)

theres a huge debate going on in a few different threads (outside atk too strong, how did i lose) where bb's and gm's have clearly stated that a well rounded center or powerforward with good secondary skills will become more expensive as people get used to the new GE .

so paying a mil more now for a center with excellent secondarys now is a great move by any manager as there most likely going to be worth 2 million more in a season or 2 .

the transfer estimate very rarely does justice to these well balanced players that are now ore valuable then 1 skilled or 2 skilled monsters.

put it this way a c with 12 on rbd/ins/indef and 1pass/1hnd for what eva the going price at the time or
a c with 12 on rbd/ins/indef and 8pass/8hand for the exact same price according to the transfer price estimate.

which would you take? which would you bid more for?

the second player would clearly end up over the transfer listed price which is not cheating merely supply and demand of a rare player (due to past training tendencys) who will dominate in todays game engine.

hopefully training tendencys will change and we will start to see more multi skilled inside players which will lead to lower prices for such players, but for now spending a mil over on such player imho is a great moe by the gm as that player is going to be worth so much more once the community in general realise that 2 skilled inside players no longer run the courts.

Another way of looking at it is if the triple Tremendous with no outside skills has a TPE of 4mil you could consider that the TPE is up to 2mil too high anyway (for experienced managers) as with no outside skills no-one is worth that. So paying $6mil is more like paying 3-4mil over the odds!!

That´s why it´s called price range. You are starting with the if´s again. How often will 4mil max estimate guy (with no secondarys) go for 6mil? 0,01%? GM-s are actually experienced managers, so spotting those transfers will be easy.

Either I am not explaining myself right or you are not understanding me. Please re-read what I wrote. I wasnt suggesting a guy with no secondaries would go for $6m.

It was never about which style of inside players I prefer. But about price ranges and going over the max price. If you would have read my previous posts in this thread you should know this.
