This is a strategy game. Training should be difficult.

If its a strategy game, then training should be strategic. It doesn't need to be illogical, and it shouldn't need your player training out of position for longer than he actually spends in the position he's trained to. That's not difficult, its ridiculous. It shouldn't require a player having to start games in order to receive enough training to be good enough to play as a backup. That's not difficult, its ridiculous.

Everything should be difficult.

Logging in should be easy. Setting your lineup should be easy. Silly statement.

Play some facebook game if you want it easy.

That's not your place to say. He can stay here if he chooses to. That also gives him the right to say what he doesn't like about things without you attempting to chase him away.

It's really time people stop taking the piss at those who want changes in the training system. REALLY.

It is not because they want a dumbing down of the game, it is because they recognise there are fundamental shortcomings and they would like to see that addressed. I disagreed with many proposals in the past by many different people and agreed with others, but mischaracterising their reasons it's really cheap and unhelpful and it really rubs me the wrong way.

I shouldn't respond here because it will just feed the troll but....

I've played management sims like this one in baseball, hockey, football (american and the real kind), basketball and even handball. This is the only one I've encountered that is so restrictive on its training system.

If I wanted something simple I'd go play some crappy APP based game where you can spend your way to the top. F*** that. I'm in my 10th full season on this game, almost 3 years IRL. Games like this one are more of a challenge and, therefore, more fun.

Regarding my actual original post:

What i was actually suggesting was that I can see a scenario coming where the NT's of the newly merged nations get starved for NT-level players because the overall talent level is spread out over multiple nations not just one.

One way to combat that would be to allow managers to train multiple skills at one time. This would enable those nations to build a larger pool of depth to choose from, perhaps overcoming the reduce number of top-tier talents.

What you are confusing is the difference between increasing the rate at which players gain skill points with increasing the number of players who receive training.

The rate at which skill points are accumulated (i.e 2 weeks for an OD pop for example) is perfectly fine. That doesn't need changed.

The fact that teams can only train one skill per week (like IS for example) is what needs changed. IMO, that will help these newly merged NT's overcome a small portion of the challenges they could face. A side effect of that change would be a greater supply of trained players which would also help with competitiveness (so no need for all the anti-tanking rules) and increase retention of new users.

Just my opinion though....
