big week for the Cup tournament -- with the short week, a chance for teams to put their best foot forward twice.

NBBA

DIII
Bruins at Skillz that Killz
Michigan Blasters at Corn Growers
Tasty Tardsicles at Redbull
Sons of Vulcan at ChiTown

DIV
Eugene at Shooter Tutors
Colbolt Bullets at Cyborgs

For comparison -- number of teams from the other DII leagues still active in the Cup:
DII.1 six
DII.2 seven
DII.4 eight

this is the second time you have had a rough bout with Angel of Injury, and with your thin squad, you can't afford that -- next time, get the blood out on the door post, like the rest of us!

if it is any consolation, your opponent is very concerned they are facing a very capable DII team.

i always thought to be in the Cup at All-Star week was one mark of a successful season.

that's because you haven't played yourself for a while.

crap, you have lost 7 league games in 2 1/2 years, made the finals last season, and have a winning margin of 35 ppg this season. you're doing something right, and two shut-down guards and a very capable SF are only part of it.

After Tuesday, the list of Cup participants got a bit shorter:

NY Apple at ChiTown: A DIII goes after possibly our best team. "Second city, my ass" if i may put words in Coach Winning!'s mouth.

Hayward Lumberjacks at Eugene: Eugene catches a couple of breaks going up against the 15th ranked team in the US, playing at home and Hayward has a key injury. But Hayward is so good they may still win.

Redbull Lakers at Chicago Dire Wolves: Inter Kac, win one for the Czarina!

Cyborgs at Mila Saints : A DIII team, but ranked slightly higher nationally. Good luck to the Mad Scientist.

Corn Growers at Chicken Hawks : A glance at records, national rankings, and overview of the squad makes me think mathew will win on the road and be advancing to the round of 16.

Bruins at Beware of Dogs: Steve's squad is so deep, they will still do very well in our league without Kelsey. but against the #3 team in the country? on the road?
