One final throw of the dice but it was never to be, we had a good go beating our last opponent by 66 points brinigng us into 3rd place with a 5-2 record, not bad considering we were looking at 3-4 at the start of the season. Sadly this was not enough to get us through to the knockouts, but we had one hell of a go at it!

Thanks for all the support and effort training players and getting gameshapes up, nows the time for us to focus on the next stage of development for the team.

Very good season, though Vecx's prediction of 3-4 now looks a bit like a certain football manager's claims that his team shouldn't be expected to win the title.

It was a very tough group though and finishing 3rd is certainly a pleasant surprise. I've no idea how the draw works, but it would be nice if our high finish can lead to a better draw in future seasons.

All things considered, I'd have to say, excellent job Vecx.

If you consider we only had 3 choices inside for the first 3 games which were against the hardest opponents we faced this season, because players we would have used as starters had GS 4-6 due to being sold or played for 100+ minutes. I think 3-4 was a reasonable prediction, let's not forget we played with two backup choices and one first choice, Parker, who played the first 3 games with GS 6-7.

The team we played Portugal with was dramatically better inside than our starting team.

All said and done I'd say 3-4 was aptly conservative but not unrealistic.

Let's just say, unless we've got some very decent 19 year olds out there, when the season restarts our current selection (9 players) is all we have to pick from!

That must be the slimmest pickings we've ever seen.

It was already a bad year, but when I checked this week for the scrims I found I couldn't pick Velumanickam Gnanasambandan... At that point the heart started to sink, he was our top inside choice lol

Oh Invincibles went Bot. That's too bad: he won the first full league I played with a 22-0 record and that was one of the teams I was looking forward to play once I got my arena in order. Not to mention he methodically tanked the previous season (the one where he got that big man). Is there no way to make this guy into a free agent?
