i don't think my team's basketball intelligence is very high. TKI is playing with a minimal crew, and last night i face four of his best players and one 29 year old playing for minimum wage. now TKI's coach does a good job of rotating his 5 players throughout the game -- and for my boys, it is sort of find the weak link, and exploit it -- sometimes it could be at SF, sometimes at SG, whatever . . .

it got ludicrous last night -- my starting SF, who faced Miller for much of the night, shot 3 for 13. eventually, his 29 year old fouled out and was replaced by a Lucky Fan for the better part of two quarters. could my guys find him? no -- and when they did, Lucky stopped many shots. crap, he even dunked once on my starting PF -- pretty humiliating.

bottom line, magiker handed me the game last night, and i want to say thank you. when he decides to deepen his bench, my idiots won't know what to do.

So I just noticed your guard that's for sale. He's got 17 JR! I wish you had a team built for an outside offense, would love to see how good he'd be at 3's in the NBBA.

just for laughs, i did a search for everybody with a JR over 17.

1) Booker(20750260) : JS 16 / JR 18. 39%. but in a DIII in Serbia. DR 13 / HA 14

2) Vujosevic (12097742) : JS / JR both 17. but shoots only 29%. DR 11 / HA 10?

3) Ognjanovic (17112186) JS 15 / JR 17, DR 14 HA 17. i would think these are very promising numbers, but he only shoots 29%. owner runs LI.

4) Golovin (15074869): JS 20+ / JR 18. DR 20+ HA 16. Yikes. surely this guy hits 3s? stuck out on SF, he hits 3s at a 25% clip. what a waste -- this is playing in DIII in Argentina. over his career, he has had seasons of around 4 3s a game and hit 45% -- one of those seasons, at least, the owner ran a Base offense.

5) Jussila (15101941): JS 16 / JR 17 DR 15 HA 16. with cws33 as his guide, he has shot a bit under 30%. one season, his coach ran a RunNGun and the fellow shot 44% on 9 shots a game. in DIV, Portugal.

6) Ben-Zvi (26436054) JS 18 / JR 18 but DR 13 HA 12. but 46%. wow. but it was a 3 man team in DIV Serbia. but the dude is only 24; right now the price is $500,000, but the salary is $116,000

Lesson? i don't see how a LI (or probably LP) produces a 3-pt shooter. when these guys have been most useful, i haven't seen a single example of their having played an inside offense. so that shoots down one of my thoughts -- just to have a guy available, maybe off the bench, who can come in and can a series of 3s.

nest? study Delta 9 -- he has a couple of shooters hitting 40% from downtown.

Yup. I've been very curious about creating an outside offense as the next version of my team, but I'm not quite sure how to build these guys. My Utopian team is also doing an outside focus, but I'm doing it from the opposite end, training the bigs first.

So every now and then I look through the TL for guys who should be great from deep, and either they're not in the right offense, or on a team about to go bankrupt, or have terrible GS from playing 100 minutes a week. I haven't found a player on the TL, with high to very high JR, that was in a good situation. There are some quality outside oriented teams, with guys who can shoot, but they have no interest in selling so I can't see their builds.

It's a little frustrating, I could wind up spending a few real life years on training players that wind up worse than they would have been otherwise.

Yeah, he is out there, and for an outside team I think he could do well. But I need to do a few things so he is the guys to put on the block.

i would like to suggest a rule that i would call the Delta 9 rule for the week of 5 May:

Any player on the TL is not permitted to play in a regularly scheduled league game if that league game is against a inter-conference opponent on that opponent's home court.

i think this rule would cut down on a major source of . . . teams losing to Delta 9.

and i think that this rule shall be considered implemented unless all 16 teams register their disapproval before 7.59 on Tuesday.

i, for one, think this is a great rule. i am glad it has been adopted by the league. i owe you guys one.

Ha!

While we're adopting new rules, I suggest that my players be allowed to play 3 games a week with no GS hit...and that trainees never foul out, and always play 48 minutes.

Well, if we are going to make this change....we should also see the Economy restored to it's old day glory, fix stupid substitutions by the GE, get rid of GDP, reduce injuries, and the list goes on and on.

you guys are simply creating rules that are obviously self-serving.

i, on the other hand, am suggesting improvements that will enhance everyone's enjoyment of the game.

i was scouting Delta 9. went to my usual source, buzzermanager. went to the list of the league's best (top 20) players (by game ratings).

Delta 9 has 3 of the league's top six players, four of the top ten and six of the league's top 20 players.

one of those six is for sale, so by the end of the week Dmitri will only have one-fourth of the league's very best players.

i feel kinda sick.
