Plus 1 to you.
I wont be exploding and vanishing, Ive been around for 22 odd seasons and sacrificed lots to train up 3 SFs.
If you want to put a suggestion into the suggestion thread that an upper limit on salaries be introduced, do so but meanwhile I will play within the rules.
Where is the line, is it okay for teams to have a million dollar roster and lose money or is the moral high ground 1.2 mill?
The over extension tax, the time taken to restore gameshapes for players after being brought & interest on debt, are all mechanisms that are already in the game that helps prevent buy ups.
I know that you dont see it, but I spent much of last season making a profit against teams that were losing money yet managed to finish the season 3 or so games ahead of the rest
The only differences to my team since the middle of last season are; Riviera out (due to dropping skills) replaced by Pichon (like for like) and Lie, Ott & Palmeri all out and replaced with 3 x 200 K players.
Game is a managerial one and I dare say that there would be several of the other 32 teams who will be running with over 1.2 mill in player salaries
To be honest I had no expectation of winning the ABBL last season, my aim was to continue to train my 3 SFs and avoid relegation. Some how I ended the season 3 games ahead.
Where would the sport be in winning the same ABBL trophy 5 or 6 seasons in a row which I probably could have done as my SFs were all still improving and what impact would an impending long reign by myself in Australia have had on the other ABBL Managers?
Some other really great posts in this thread, love the one on culture
