Welcome to Season 64: AutoBid!

Finally, the much requested AutoBid feature is here! Bidding on both players and staff has just become much easier. The way it works is very similar to auction sites; instead of bidding a fixed amount (which you can still do - we didn’t remove the old Bid button), you can now set an amount (maximum bid) up to which you are ready to bid. The system will then bid for you just the lowest necessary amount to take over the auction (a difference of at least $1000 or 2% still applies).

Other bidders can then make bids (normal or automatic ones) to try and overbid you, but once the max bid has been overbid, even by $1, that’s it, the new bidder has taken over! In case of ties, the priority is with the earlier bid, “automatic” or “normal”. But, in the end, the highest bid wins, just as it always has.

The system checks the available amount of cash of the max bid holder with each bid, so not having enough funds to cover it will result in an overbid. Also, there are no limits on how many auto bids you can set at any given time. We believe the system is intuitive and fair and would like to encourage you to try it out. (323217.13)

Exceeding 1500 Utopia teams, we wanted to thank you all for the support! Next season we will have to expand the 4th division of Utopia in order to house all the new signings! As of now, we've decided to match the starting Utopia Arena to be the same as all starting arenas of regular teams (6000 seats). We know things can be tough when starting playing in Utopia leagues and the competitiveness it offers and we believe we shouldn't make it any more harder and reward our most persistent managers. All managers that created their Utopia teams within the last two seasons and have upgraded their arenas in the meantime, have been reimbursed for the difference.

Congratulations are due to France U21 (coached by slamdunk9) for winning the U21 World Cup! Led by the mighty scorer Gamin, they managed to achieve a winning advantage in the 4Q to win the tight match 92 - 85. They beat USA U21 (coached by Antwon) which achieved its 3rd WC Finals in a row, very impressive from both teams.

Team and manager bigshoes were unstoppable once again! Successfully sustaining the last season gold roster, bigshoes has won their second B3 title in a row! The Final result 128 - 97 was quite expected considering the GDPs and we commend Ramat-Ilan Pilots (coached by GM-Arbelon) for trying his best and reaching their first B3 Finals!

The B3 predictions contest winners are Eddy and KrakoviaB from Squiperia and Argentina respectively. They had the same amount of points and have split their prize, landing them half a year of Supporter each. Second place went to Granjoe3 from Spain and third to zyga1990 from Poland. Welcome to Season 65: The LeBron effect!

Medical advancements, nutritional supplements, cryo chambers, etc… They have all had a great effect on increased player durability and have extended careers of greatest basketball stars. Following suit, we are pushing the start of the deterioration age for all BB players to 35! The change has already been implemented starting today!

Modern basketball is evolving and we try to follow, so adjustments have been made to our game engine and, while most of them are focused on improving our current offense and defense strategies, as well as other things, some are aimed towards a better simulation of current trends in basketball. We hope these changes, while gentle, will also bring more balance to all game plans and tactics.

Poland NT (managed by kozlik4) has done it again! They are the BuzzerBeater World Cup winners, back to back! A rare achievement in the NT world. Just like the last time, they have managed to get 3 wins in a row to avoid elimination in the second round robin and beat Hong Kong (managed by bigshoes) in a surprisingly close game that ended 93 - 86. For Hong Kong it was their first EVER WC Finals appearance!
The next U21 World Cup will be held in India!

Etonic Akeem (managed by Norris) has put their defense on the BuzzerBeater's Best display this season and didn't let anyone get past it! They won KS Goldena (managed by kozlik4) by the end result of 69 - 58. Out of 6 knockout B3 games, they suffocated their opponents to no more than 60 points in 5 of those games! In related news, most lower tier victory rewards for B3 and BBM matches have been increased.

Congratulations to the winners of our B3 prediction contest: T3T from Italy will enjoy his one year of free Supporter! The Australian manager bryce_gibbs is in second place, and third is split by Faust from Russia and our BB mini celebrity, kozlik4 from Poland.

Ownership of BuzzerBeater Changes Hands to Spicy Sparks: Exciting Upgrades Ahead

In a major development for our beloved basketball manager game, BuzzerBeater, we are excited to announce that the game's ownership has transitioned to an Italian company, Spicy Sparks. This change marks the beginning of a new era for BuzzerBeater, promising significant upgrades while preserving the core values that our community holds dear.

Spicy Sparks is best known for the music streaming app eSound Music, but also has experience developing online games in the past. Supporter Price Adjustments

During the process of implementation the new payment system (feel free to check it out on the Supporter page), we have realised that some of the countries have been placed in the wrong price tiers. Those seven countries have been placed in tiers that are lower than their real economic standards and have therefore been moved up, partially due to the fact that the new prices now also include VAT tax. We would also like to note that all teams from those countries that have active subscriptions, will be moved to the new tier at the time of the next subscription renewal. This will happen only after we have completed the implementation of the new payment system and after all the subscriptions have been migrated to it.
