i wouldnt worry about handling on no.3 for now - give him his training in your scrimmage games and if you dont want him to be a liability focus on his OD straight away.

i would suggest working out what you want your no.1 trainee to look like. A PG, SG or combination of the two? Only you know which would suit your team and the way you like them to play. Once he is done you can tackle the needs of your 2nd trainee and then the 3rd. I would have thought whatever you do to 1 and 2 would make 3 look great by the age of 21.

Whatever your target is for no. 1, OD up to 16 or 17 would be a good idea and this suits trainees 2 and 3.

if you train 1 at some point to improve his JR and JS this would suit no.2 who's JR is a relative weakness (even if you had planned to make 2 a PG)

If you end up doing lots of od,js,jr and pass training you might find HA on no. 3 looks more acceptable and with no need to specifically train it.

you should plan ahead when you will do any of the 2 position training like jump shot for guards as you would get the most use out of it if you could fill the other 3 slots with young players needing JS

good luck with your trainees they look very promising

The U21 scout told me to train handling, so OD would pop easier because of the elastic effect. I have at least one game per Week which I can´t win or can´t lose, so I don´t really need to train od right away, because he won´t be a weakness.

Well, I want both of them to be comboguards. No. 1. a bit more SG, No. 2. more PG.

Correct, this is something I´ll have to work on!

I´ll only train it because of the elastic effect. I don´t think that handling is needed to be trained when it is on a similar level as the other skills, too. But when it´s this low, it might slow down the OD training

Yeah I will. But I don´t think I´ll need to train 2 Pos. this season (ex. ASW), because I´m nearly save from depromotion this season.

Hes a great player and if trained right could definitely make the NT teams. What level trainer do you have? Also, are you in contact with someone from the US NT?

I agree with Manon. If you want the best players for your team in this case, focus on them in order of age as the younger ones need training in all skills to some extent whatever the style of PG/SG you want them to be in their 20s.

If your dream is to have the 3rd trainee to be in the U21s no matter what then all you can do is keep in close contact with u21 management and do what they ask. however, it is a competition between many managers and young players and not all of them will be successful in the end.

the main reason why i am replying again is about your mention of the elastic effect. Is its existence proven? Even if it is im not sure its impact on the number of pops you see would be noticeable. Especially if one skill is at 4 and the others at 6 and 7 and the skill at 4 was likley to pop indirectly when you focus on all the other higher skills one by one.

If one skill was 1 and the others 7+, then in the interests of having a balanced guard playing on court i would even them up a bit before training the other skills (rather than in the interests of avoiding this so-called elastic effect). perhaps managers who have been in this position can comment on elastic effect and its size

if i was american I would feel like i want to cry in happiness that you pulled such a great rookie and also in despair as at first glance it looks as though he isnt getting the 48+ training time he could be.

at first glance either: 1. the training minutes he can get each week can be improved to 48+, rather than 30-40 and/or if he is getting 48+, 2. the training minutes you give to your other players can be improved as well.

you have another 5.8k salary 18yo you must have bought and some others with star potential sitting there.

obviously you need to balance team performances with training and the two dont immediately go hand in hand, but if you focus on training and line them up right in games you can consistently get 3 trainees at 48+ minutes whilst training skills at 1 position.

doesnt this just show that a double pop is possible and that it happened when the other inside skills were far higher than the skill that double popped?

if this is abnormal, it actually suggests a different kind of elastic effect (unbalanced skills catch up quicker)

i havent read the whole thread so apologies if there are other examples later on.

will read later!
