Hes a great player and if trained right could definitely make the NT teams. What level trainer do you have? Also, are you in contact with someone from the US NT?

I agree with Manon. If you want the best players for your team in this case, focus on them in order of age as the younger ones need training in all skills to some extent whatever the style of PG/SG you want them to be in their 20s.

If your dream is to have the 3rd trainee to be in the U21s no matter what then all you can do is keep in close contact with u21 management and do what they ask. however, it is a competition between many managers and young players and not all of them will be successful in the end.

the main reason why i am replying again is about your mention of the elastic effect. Is its existence proven? Even if it is im not sure its impact on the number of pops you see would be noticeable. Especially if one skill is at 4 and the others at 6 and 7 and the skill at 4 was likley to pop indirectly when you focus on all the other higher skills one by one.

If one skill was 1 and the others 7+, then in the interests of having a balanced guard playing on court i would even them up a bit before training the other skills (rather than in the interests of avoiding this so-called elastic effect). perhaps managers who have been in this position can comment on elastic effect and its size

if i was american I would feel like i want to cry in happiness that you pulled such a great rookie and also in despair as at first glance it looks as though he isnt getting the 48+ training time he could be.

at first glance either: 1. the training minutes he can get each week can be improved to 48+, rather than 30-40 and/or if he is getting 48+, 2. the training minutes you give to your other players can be improved as well.

you have another 5.8k salary 18yo you must have bought and some others with star potential sitting there.

obviously you need to balance team performances with training and the two dont immediately go hand in hand, but if you focus on training and line them up right in games you can consistently get 3 trainees at 48+ minutes whilst training skills at 1 position.

theres stuff on this in the referenced help thread and much much more

also, if you dont know how gameshape works start learning about that too. its all in the same thread.

good luck! im very jealous :)

doesnt this just show that a double pop is possible and that it happened when the other inside skills were far higher than the skill that double popped?

if this is abnormal, it actually suggests a different kind of elastic effect (unbalanced skills catch up quicker)

i havent read the whole thread so apologies if there are other examples later on.

will read later!

He perfectly described the meaning of elastic effect :D

i understand the principle of the effect as far as the slow down of training the higher related skills are concerned, i just didnt realise the boost to the training speed of the lower skill was proven.

and im unsure how big the impact of these two sides to the elastic effect are in practice.

i know one example cant prove the rule, but i had a 18yo player (level 5 trainer) with 1 passing and 6/7+ in other outside skills and with 1 position passing he popped as often as expected, (not more than expected which would indicate a noticeable/powerful elastic effect)
i think he popped 3 weeks in a row, then didnt, then started popping each week again. Even if he started out at 1 with no passing sublevel, with a worthwhile elastic effect surely he would have popped 4 or 5 weeks in a row?

Hmm, I wonder about the passing and it's link to other skills via the elastic effect. The reason being that passing isn't favored by short stature versus tall. So, perhaps passing isn't linked to OD/handling/driving in the elastic effect.

Alternatively, training passing does train driving and handling slightly, so that might suggest they are connected by the giant imaginary training rubber band that is "the elastic effect."

For that matter, is there any definitive list for what skills are connected elastically?
