Is he selling for that much or is that just the price tag the owner has put on him? He's a decent rookie to pick up but he's really not that great. Big men will cost too much to reach any potential that high so i wouldn't rate that part too high.

The rest of his skills are ok but we've a plethora of big men with no outside skills already.

I'd be surprised if he went as high as 2mil really.

I basically didnt have anyone that was really good in my startup team. Ive bought 4/5 starters and its barely been a week since I started.

Randomking333 you are right your team is unimpressive although even though your players seem bad they may still have the numbers where they need them most and be ok players. A couple of the guys you have purchased seem ok.

You will need to get at least someone who is worth training. I think an 18 year old all star salary 3500+ or a 19 year old perennial all star salary 4000+ would be the bare minimum. Your "best" trainee at the moment probably is

Teimua Forbes (12544588) Center
Weekly salary: $ 3 193
DMI: 9000
Age: 19
Height: 7'0" / 213 cm
Potential: perennial allstar
Game Shape: respectable

and I think you could pick up much, much better prospects for way less than $100,000.

wow.. really?.. thats great.. I will keep my eye out on the Transfer market.

More urgently, I was buying players I could immediately insert into my starting lineup. They're doing quite well. Now, a trainee might be the way to go. I have about 100k-150k to spend on a trainee.

Might you have a good idea of what type of player trains fastest? (bigmen, shooting guards etc).
And what attributes should I expect out of a player I spend 100k to 150k on?

Salaries only update at the start/end of each season. So nce a season. So you can have a player you have trained all season with a salary of only 4k but really he has the skill set of a 10k player (Very good for when teams are trying to scout your team)

For what kind of trainee you should look for it really up to what you want to train. If you want to train guards you should try find a shorter young 18/19 year old as they train in guard skills faster than a tall player. And vice versa if you want to train C/PF.

how about a 7 foot SF?

A little too tall?

And another thing, I might run into financial issues. How much debt can I go into without losing my team?

Depends what you need to train the SF in. If he already has good guard skills and you only need to train his inside skills he is perfect :)

And for your second question here is the answer straight from BB-Charles:
As part of a new agreement between BuzzerBeater owners and their lending institutions, after two weeks without getting back above -$500,000, a team will find all of their players listed for sale, with the proceeds helping them get back out of debt. Teams will only go into receivership (and get a new, bank-appointed general manager) if listing their players for sale has not brought a team out of bankruptcy be the next economy update. This should have the dual effect of allowing general managers a better chance to keep their team from disappearing and letting banks recover more money when a team goes bankrupt.

I just had a look at your team and you are a few players to many. 24 players is way to much if ask me. Most teams manage their minutes with around 12-15 players max. If I were you I would either sell or fire about 9 of your players.

You have a lot of players under 3k salary, in my eyes players with a salary under 3k are a waste of time so I normally fire them straight away, I'd suggest you start building your team from there.

alright.. I will cut down on the players. The numbers are high because I have been paying attention to the purchasing of better players to strengthen my team. Now that I have an ok starting lineup and bench, I can look back to cut a few of the originals.
