Well to me, Clippers have proven they are the best team. Kobe has scored great, but he needs the triangle to reign him in and help him defer to his teammates. Remember the year Kobe scored 81? Same type of deal....Kobe does too much and doesn't use his teammates. The difference is that now Kobe has a great team around him, that year he didn't. Nobody has the front court that the Lakers do. Definitely nobody has the front court coupled with a legit superstar like Kobe either. How are the Lakers not better????

They have literally no one else who can play on the perimeter, I actually wouldn't mind an Arenas pick up, though if J.R. Smith could be had when he comes back that'd be much better.

JUST ANOTHER UPDATE GUYS:

This may not change your mind at all as to what you think about the Clippers but Kenyon Martin just signed a 1 year deal with the Clippers today, which gives the Clippers much more depth since Martin was a starter last season with Denver. It will also give Blake Griffin a solid backup. I think the Clippers just got a tad bit better with the signing of K-Mart.

I completely agree. My reservation with the Clips was their depth...this is a huge pickup. SO GLAD he didn't sign with the heat. Phew, dodged a bullet.

I thought the Clips were better anyway, but now it's by a wider margin.

I 100% agree with you. +1 to you for simply hoping he didnt sign with the Heat. I didn't care who he signed with as long as it was the Spurs or the Heat. Watch the Clippers Land J.R. Smith as well haha. Then their team would be set.

JR is the same go as Mo imo. They don't need him. They could use a defensive SF type that could guard the 2 or the 3 though. In the mold of Battier or Tony Allen...maybe a Thabo Sefalosha type even.

I dunno. JR started at SF for the nuggets a lot when Melo had injuries. Plus theres not really any good defensive SFs out there right now. JR is an explosive player and i think the CLips would want that.

I haven't watched much basketball, but I find it crazy how much depth Denver had/still has. To be losing guys like Felton, K-Mart, and Smith; yet still be sitting with the #2 seed in the West.

Also pretty practical of both Martin and Smith to stay in playing shape overseas, and now come back with title contenders courting for their services.

Like the Martin signing too. Brings a different type of defensive approach than Griffin/Jordan, and another energy guy... Clippers are packed with those type of players that can run up and down the floor, get points off pure hustle, and make energy plays on both ends, should fit in nicely.

So we know the Lakers have some very big holes. We know the Clippers have great depth, balanced team best pg on the game, great shooters, good athleticism, solid veteran leadership, Blake Griffin. But how come the Lakers are only a half game behind them in the standings? Why are they tied one game a piece on the season head to head? Why did Denver go into to Staples and thrash the clippers one night, and then lose at home to the Lakers the next? Why aren't the clippers better when they have the better roster?

Bruce Bowen out of retirement... whoooOooo!

Honestly, I'm a fan of the Heat, the Clippers, and the Raptors... if K-Mart had gone to any of those teams I'd have been happy, but LA was the best fit for him. I agree that a defensive wing player could be more than enough to push the Clippers over the top.

How bitter do you think Baron Davis is right now?
