Are the SBing values around respectable?

IMO SB plays into the overall aggressiveness of a player, as driving does for offense.
This question begins to dig into the heart of the OT as a whole. SB has an effect, but just how much?

and it would be pretty hard to compare as other skills may influence shot blocking too.
Then if we follow your theory why not think the same think of rebounding and ID too, as height helps IRL

I have a 6'6 sg..... pitiful inside defense, but respectable sb.
He has a 1.2 SB average for the season.
In RL terms we all know that height is a factor with a 6'6 guard.
With this game being basically math....the question comes eventually how to cover a human feel to it with math involved?
That is where variables come into play, in math out brings the human or unknown factor into this.......and if there is an unknown factor......that means it is possible that all is not known about this game. And if you think outside the box like I do, it keeps you coming back for more because of the endless possibilities this sim provides.
Back to my point, with a player with no ID to speak of, yet gets over a block a game...could just a decent stat of OD alone be the reason for this?

Ok,
So it is agreed that defensive ratings don't have a bearing on this.
So again the question I pose to you (all) is , what is the factor in the shot blocking then?
It is either of the two things that I have already mentioned......either it is something staring you in the face (height), or something yet unknown (hidden variable/dev related).
Another point to ponder is to cross reference to support. In the game manuel it speaks of taller players training faster in the attributes that benefit the big man, rebounding for example, does it not state that roughly the taller the player the more effective the training will be?
Is this so isolated that it only applies JUST to this instance?
Height has no bearing?? When it is in another area of this game?
There are things written......yet there are things that can be seen that don't exactly jibe with what is told.
Everything must match up to be fact and I'm quite comfortable saying that.
