Sure he is worth focusing on. He has good secondaries for a big. I suggest you to get a advanced trainer for a cheap price. You can train his inside skills and some one on one for forwards. Make sure you train him one-position (Inside def-shoot for C) and he gets 48+ minutes in that position.

I've got a question regarding the draft.

Is it always preferable to pick an 18 yeard old (with 5 star rating and 3 star potential rating) above an 19 year old ( 5 star rating 4 potential rating)?

If the 19 years old is A+, I would pick him. Now 19 years olds can have strong skills so, they might have very good skills and not be very behind in the training.
