Somebody should really start a petition to get LI removed from the game. Maybe for one season only or so, to see what happens.

I guess that LI addicts would start playing LP, making it a dominant tactic. Managers, who were able to find smart alternatives to LI, use them even without such a threat.

The problem is that folks are trying to be the first team to win using outside tactics, instead of creating the first team to shut down inside defensively. Of course inside offenses is the way to go if everyone is keeping a high OD, low blocking team; if the game engine still has outside offense winning against that, then it'll be imbalanced when the shift happens the other way. Once there are enough teams that are defensively capable to defend against LI (which I think is now possible in today's game), that's when we'll see more varied offenses that make more sense to build around. I'm working to speed up when my team will be ready just to see a team that can shut down inside offenses completely.

Are you being serious? I hope not. No, outside tactics were not DOMINANT for ABOUT 10 seasons. PTB is not an outside offense. Low Post isn't an outside offense. Right? before the major tweak with the GE, all the O's were used, you had to actually think about what D to use. And in that time period, some teams actually used 3 big man and ran LI.
And ALSO....how is a 25 year dominace ABOUT 10 years?
Come on, stop posting and just admit that you didn't have a clue. Or even better, just say your numbers were off.
DISCLAIMER.....If you are 12 or 13 years old, then you might not be capable of admitting you were wrong. So, I will not respond to anymore of these post. See, I am a grown man, and if I posted what you posted. I would have said, HEY, I was going off of forum hear say, and now I can see I made an error with the data I thought was correct. Now knowing what I learned in this thread from mutiple sorces, I can see that after the GE overhaul of season 12, it now seems that LI has been the only go to O in a big game with equal competition since this time. Thanks for setting me straight.
That is what a grown man would have said.

I have to disagree. I have tried LP before and my PG/SG never went inside. The main reason LI is so dominant is because of the G's slashing to the basket. I had a PG with 15 IS and 18 driving and he would never go inside while playing LP. He would rack up a ton of assist passing to the PF/C but never go inside.
Long story short...LP would never be as dominant as LI.....in my opinion.

I'm not even sure why people are bickering about that. Irrespective of what the problems were in season 1-12 I'd say we should focus on the problems we have right now and that is LI.

Let's just agree to disagree about season 1-12 and move on.
