Well as interleague is going its time to present our newest edition of III.7 Hot Spot! The 5 topics that are of interest in the league.
1. Which side is Truly better?... Yes interleague gives us a chance to see what side wins heads up, but this question is more focused as a whole not team vs team. As a whole is it better to have multiple teams be considered "good" or better to have the best team or even 2 teams. As it stands now the blue side has 6&7 teams literally 2-3 games out of first place while the red has some clear teams that are in over there head right now. so what side is really better right now?
2. Red Side dominance... Scrap Heap is separating themselves as the best team in the league overall Space Von was also clearly way ahead of the competition as well but raised some flags when he shared his lack of commitment so far to how his team is doing and followed that up with a loss to BucsBlue who has been in the dumps and isn't that good of a team. However if Space gets it back rolling Scrap, Space and Puff are 3 really really good teams!
3. Way too Early Playoff picture. On the red side it looks clear it will be a 5 team race for 4 spots. And someone is going to get in that dreaded and NEW 5 spot relegation game, however on the blue side you could argue its a legit 7 team race for 4 spots. Now the good news for the Blue side is that spots 5 & 6 as it stands seem to have on paper favorable relegation matchups. But spot 7 would be in a battle with a REALLY good 5 seed on the red. Meaning a really strong quality team is going to get relegated this season. if season ended today BucsBlue would take on Mof State... that would be a hell of a series. who you got winning?
4. Continuing on the interleague theme... Styles make FIGHTS... talk about a difference in style of play based strictly on statistics. On the red side its a grind it out league. The boast 4 of the overall leagues stingiest defenses. 4 teams given up less than 700 points total so far. The inverse on the blue side NO one under 700 given up, but offensively just explosive. with 2 teams well over 800 points in 8 games (100+PPG avg) and 3 additional teams all with total points higher than the red side top scoring team. Hopefully interleauge will help answer what matters more a Strong Offense or a Great defense.
5. Saturday Predictions
Scrap > Bucs (Scrap is just hands down better. not even close)
Space > Rogue (think the Bucs loss was a fluke.. or space has really checked out and cashed the chips in)
Mof>Defenseless (Defenseless starting to show some chinks in the armor)
Puff>Air (Despite loss to rogue.. Puff just feels like the better team in this)
Don>Sparta (Upset pick of the night. Don i dont think has given up and in a close one could squeak out a win)
Rhino>San (The better team will win this game. Rhino too deep, too talented too good)
Baker>West (West seems to be on a path to get back to D4. hopefully he's making & saving money n training this season)
Serp>Inco (This will be a war of a game. Unless Serp is doing cup prep and adjust his players minutes.)
5-3 Red Side this week. Baker jumps back in the playoff picture as the 4 seed,
Good luck all
