You are right, it is for people enjoying this very slow progress, and that is the reason we are having this conversations, because it seems less and less people are enjoying it. I actually also like this slow progress (I started playing 3 and a half seasons ago and I am having fun while being patient and waiting for team to mature).

Having better draftees, it will still be plenty of time watching and enjoying your player's growth (just not from 55 TSP to 130, 140 but from 70 - 80 TSP on or something like that ). You might enjoy your time with players even more as they would be better and helping your team earlier.

But that is not true either. If draftees go from 55 to 70 tsp, the average div.1 starter will go from 130 to 145 tsp and the situation will remain the same. Well not exactly, because you will need higher potential, so you will have to select a trainee with 55 tsp and higher potential, instead the 70 tsp one with lower potential, and then the situation will again be the same.

There are subtleties, but I hope you get my point.

I understand, this is valid point. I guess simply raising tsp of draftees wouldnt work due to reasons you stated. It should work though if draftees were 20-21 years old, having tsp in the same range as current 20-21 years old have. This should speed up the building/rebuildig process while maintaining cap of the best players. Overall quality of players might raise a bit though if more managers would decide to train. Besides this would erase inequalities between draftees of different age as 10 tsp is roughly what 20 year olds gain with good trainig (I dont have much experience with training of 20 year old players so this estimation might be off).

For me the main issue is the bot-filled leagues. The pace of the game would be much less of an issue if you could have meaningful games straight away against teams of a similar level.

I think game speed is fine. Just make sure everybody get a proper competitive match every tuesday, thursday and saturday, with no dull weeks. Those weeks where barely nothing happens are totally unnecessary and by no means are justifiable.
