That Chinese D3 team who paid $2,718,700 for the 18 year old potential hall of famer is rebuilding what was an old roster. They now have 9 - 18 year olds, 1 - 19 year old, 1 - 20 year old, and 1 - 32 year old. They also added another 18 year old potential hall of famer for $1,595,000.

Their arena size is at 18,520 with a high of 18,144 in their Semi-final.

Yesterday they used a strange 3-man lineup and their new USA player had 38 points, 13 rebounds. Their other new expensive addition only had 6 points, 12 rebounds.

I do not know what is considered to be a reasonable sale price for an 18 year old with hall of fame potential. It is the market that determines prices.

It does seem that they are "penalized" but are they really? First of all they only need to pay the first week of the playoffs, which is not that bad seeing how its only 50%. That week is basically treated as the last week of the regular season and the start of the playoffs. Now comparing it to the real NBA, which is something that should not be done, teams still basically have to pay the player on their last week of work.

Now you may argue that it isn't their last week of work and it was the week before because they won't play a game the following week, but this is the only reasonable reason for it to be "fair".

I think it is the right move because it would stop teams from actually trying to get into that 5th spot. Usually in any real sport, all teams aim for the playoffs, but that does not really happen here since you actually save more/gain more money by not making the playoffs.

I do think that the 2 5th place teams should play against each other, but there would be no reason for that. So until they BB's find a reason for the 2 5th place teams to play each other, this new 5th place thing will be looked as a penalty.

I mean really, a team that did not make the playoffs should really not be better off than the 4th place team, I guess this is a penalty for not making the playoffs then. Whatever at least there will be more competition for the playoffs and more competitions = more fun!

*EDIT* I would agree with Ram who posted after this, but since I'll never be 1st/2nd I won't have to worry about that!

The real "penalty " goes to the #1 and #2 that don't get 2/3 of the revenue anymore.

@Tough part

I don't want to speak for Ram, so I'll put in my own opinion on Tough. I do agree that 3,000 - 5,000 posts in 3 seasons is incredible. Not saying all of them were relevant, but most of them were! Especially his NT/U21 before-game write ups and recaps. I have never read "The Eagle" so I can't talk about that. His posts on the USA NT offsite are very nice as well including the amount of them(868 posts in 7 months).

Anyways "His IV.29 had 307 posts last season compared to 225 posts here" see I posted something similar to this last year when I wrote "Wow this league only had 70ish posts compared to my D4 where it had 200+". Now I didn't see offense in this last year, but now I feel deeply hurt! I don't know if this was an attack or not, but we tried our best to be talkative! To be honest we can include 40 more posts from our Road to Cup thread, but it still is lower than 300.

I do know how much time goes into them. Personally I would have never been able to do what you did in Div IV. for so long. I would much rather do pregame predictions then post game wrap ups.

Actually I wasn't referring at all to his recent language, but more to his lack of spelling and punctuation. I will admit that he has fervor. He can do some decent work if he concentrates on it. But when I think of great posters I think of guys like fewmit (Old Yet Sexy Hippies), hrudey (Rik Smits Clogs), or darykjozef (I'll Replace You with Machines).

I upgraded my PF. Someone has bid on my 33 year old, so I just bought a 24 year old. He'll end up costing me less than 400000 after that sale. I think I got him for a good price. Transfer Price Estimate: There have been 13 recent transfers of 23-24 year old centers with tremendous inside defense and allstar potential. Adil Muham is probably better than all 13 of these players, but the few that are most similar have been selling for around $ 550 000 to $ 1 200 000.

So if I don't like him, I shouldn't lose any money if I resell him.

That can be misleading since I am splitting my posts as I respond to different GMs. Who will have the 100th post?

My first thought is that teams will lose one or more games to avoid finishing in fifth place. This way they would earn attendance revenue from 3 relegation games. They figure that if their team is good enough to finish in fifth place, then it is good enough to win a relegation series with the home court advantage against a seventh place team.

If you can guarantee that this scenario will never happen then you have my full approval, not that you need it.

I assume that the revenue split for relegation games will not change.

And yes the new revenue split penalizes the first and second place teams.
