Standing: 29.03.2016

On monday we played and won against Iran. It was the first time Sweden had to play against this country.
Looking at the WR list we gained nothing. No points, no higher WR and no higher rank in Europe. But still, this was an important win because this season is really something. The teams are more balanced and it will be hard to reach the KO round with two loses. During the last seasons a 5:3 with a high difference was enough... I fear that this season is different.

The game against Iran:
Our two guards had a monster game. They scored and rebounded and defended and and and... I guess that this game went so well because of the high game shape of the team. Four starters had GS 9, nine players of the whole roster had GS 9. If the GS stays at this level and the other teams have some problems, there could be some more surprissing results.

We won the game at the charity stripe. 8 missed free throws, but luckily this was enough today.

The next game against a higher ranked team and the next win. Somehow this team knows how to play tight games and stress their NT manager ;)
We had a strong start but Hong Kong could close the gap every time. In the end, we could manage to win because of the free throws. 75% is good, but we missed eight free throws and this means eight points. Sometimes only a couple of points decide about winning and losing. So if some of you want to train free throw, you have my blessing If possible, I would let Tuikkala shoot every free throw. With this he would finish every game with 20+ points.
Again a big thanks for keeping the game shape so high. With your management it's great to arrange the line up. There are almost no restrictions for me because of the game shape. Fantastic work guys!
Next week we have the next strong and higher ranked opponent. Slovenia will visit us and I'm sure the will give us a hard time. So let's see what we can do on Monday.

Btw: we moved up from WR 30 to 29 and kept rank 15 in Europe.
