We could use more discussion and debates on training strategies and plans. At the moment its too basic cut and dry with each manager doing what he/she deems best. A collaborative training approach designed so that when these players come together as a team their skills suit the needs of the team would be great.

I think anyone that's managed the NT/U21's would love for it to be this level. Unfortunately it's very difficult to achieve. Some managers don't even reply to emails, and it's hard enough to convince everyone not to overplay their players and ruin their game shape let alone follow a particular training path.

As for discussion of tactics, personally I became uncomfortable laying out particular game plans on any forum. It's too easy for that information to get out to the opponent. It also seemed not worth the effort communicating so much information to the US community when, for the most part, very few people seemed to be interested in following the NT's.

That would be great, but a lot of users aren't willing to go along with the collective if it's going to completely wonk their team.

Yea, I mean, as a trainer of a former NT-21/NT player, obviously I wanted him to be the best player, but I wanted him to be the best player for my team's needs. If he happened to be good for the NTs as well, then awesome... but that was clearly secondary.

If in the future we get something to be on the national team (a salary break or something), then this may change. But for now, most teams won't be willing to change it up.
